Donda, Kanye West’s 10th album caused endless controversy, introducing his new style of music to the public. He made a comeback on February 22, 2022, giving light to Donda 2 in Miami, Florida.

After fans were waiting for more than two hours, West made his initial entrance at 10:45. While fans waited for the rapper, a heartbeat sound was playing and later on, the center of the stage, West’s representation of his childhood home caught on fire.

Artists such as Jack Harlow, Migos, Alicia Keys and Pusha T were featured in some of these new unreleased songs. As these songs were playing, West also walked through water. He played “Flowers” and also teased his song “Eazy.” In fact, the song that Jack Harlow appears in, opened with the famous line said by Kamala Harris, “We did it, Joe.” The event ended with “Off the Grid,”,where Playboi Carti was featured.

Kanye West also announced that the new Donda 2 will only be available in one platform. No Spotify, no ITunes, no YouTube, instead, the album will be exclusively available in Donda Stem Player. He announced that he turned down a $100 million deal from Apple and chose to release it on his own for $241, however, his album is still not available on this platform.

“I walked away from Apple right after having the most number 1’s in Apple history. Song Writers have been really hurt by streaming platforms,” West said this was the reason why he decided to release Donda 2 through his Stem Player.

Kanye West was also throwing hints to the public that he still sees Kim Kardashian as his wife, even after their messy divorce. Opening the song “Security” with a Saturday Night Live monologue by Kardashian “I married the best rapper of all time/Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America.”

After being described as “unfinished” and “messy,” the second version of Donda has been released and now, time to wait for Ye’s next listening party.
