Well, if so, you should definitely check out the Miami Film Festival.

The Miami Film Festival is an annual film festival in Miami, Florida held by Miami-Dade College to showcase independent American and international films with a special focus on Ibero-American films (Spanish and Portuguese).

The festival captures international and local attention, with films being aired in several venues across the city center with features, documentaries, short films, and retrospectives. The programming includes:
-premiers for both established film-makers and up-and-commers
-socially relevant films
-multidisciplinary (film analysis and cinematic criticsm)
-experimental films
-films highlighting international musicians.

The mission of the Miami Film Festival is to promote cultural understanding and encourage artistic development.

The festival will be going from March 4-13.

And, due to Covid, there is now also a virtual version of the festival. The Miami Virtual Film Festival, which allows virtual films to be available throughout the events regular schedule.

“We are thrilled to bookend this year’s Festival with two Oscar shortlist contenders from the Ibero-American world,” said Miami Film Festival executive director Jaie Laplante in a statement.

Market screenings at the festival’s Silverspot Cinema will showcase 10 films from France, and a further 10 from Spain, Italy, Sweden, Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, and Slovak Republic. (Screendaily.com)
