Best Early Dismissal Restaurants

On everyone’s favorite day of the week, some might be seeking the best restaurant. Here is a list of the 5 most popular early dismissal food spots.

  1. Sushi Maki in the Grove $

If you have ever driven on Bayshore drive, you have probably seen or been to Sushi Maki. For a quick and easy after school meal, Sushi Maki offers a variety of sushi rolls and poke bowls. Service is usually fast (ranging from 10-15 minutes) and if you choose to sit outside, you will have a nice view of the bay. Sushi Maki landed itself in the most popular spot according to students.

“I usually will go to Sushi Maki because it’s close and fast. Unlike fast food, Sushi Maki tastes fresh and like a real meal. If you go here, you will usually see a bunch of your friends which makes it fun,” said junior Annakarina Blavia.

2. Starbucks in the Grove $

We’ve all heard of Starbucks, and for many ILS students it’s a no- brainer to head on over here. Located right next door from Sushi Maki, Starbucks is neck and neck when it comes to popularity. Starbucks offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches, blended drinks, and refreshers. This is definitely not the spot to go to on the days we are not served lunch at school, but if you are looking to socialize this is the spot to go.

“For me Starbucks is the easiest place to go to since it is so close to the school. All of my friends come here, and I will also run into other familiar faces. Starbucks is a quick and reliable place to come to on early dismissal and regular days,” said sophomore Jadin Gonzalez.

3.  Juicense in the Grove $$

A great grab and go health spot, Juicense offers a variety of smoothies, açaí bowls, sandwiches, and salads. This spot is located across the street of Coco Walk and is accessible to all of the surrounding shops and movie theater. Juicense is recommended if you want a less filling and more nutrient-dense meal.

“I am a huge fan or the açaí bowls and the avocado toast here. My friends and I usually come here if we know that afterwards we want to walk around and shop. I usually bump into a lot of fellow ILS students here,” said senior Brianna Ross.

4. Flanigans in the Grove $$

An American and seafood sports bar and grill, Flanigans is a classic and fun spot. The ambiance is diverting and the food is good. Flanigans is a great spot to go to if you are wanting to spend a good amount of time sitting and eating. The menu is lengthy and delivers a lot of different options.

“I love the ribs and the fries at Flanigans. This place is a really fun environment and is probably the only thing I think about all day. A lot of La Salle people come here but regardless the crowd is always fun and makes the restaurant an experience,” said junior Danny Riano.

Joe & The Juice in Brickell $$

Joe & The Juice is another laid-back sandwich and smoothie shop with quick service. This spot is good if you are looking to study or get some work done after school thanks to its quiet environment. This restaurant is located a couple of minutes from Brickell City Center and is a great grab and go snack before shopping begins. This spot is usually comfortably busy and is known for their sandwiches.

“Joe & The Juice is my all-time favorite food spot. Not only is the food so good but I usually come here if I want to catchup with a friend of if I want to read a book. I like that they don’t try and rush you out here and you can really stay as long as you want to,” said junior Brianna Davis.
