Halloween is the most frightful time of the year. It can also be the the most stressful. Coming up with a good Halloween costume can be so off putting that some just leave it until last minute and end up wearing something they’re not fully satisfied with.

To help not finding yourself in that position, check out some of the upcoming and trending Halloween costumes for 2021.

  1. Fanciful Fairies
A do-it-yourself fairy costume.

With the 2000s making a major comeback, it’s expected for fairies to come back with full force on to the scene. The variations of fairies expected to be seen include Pixie Hollow, Winx Club, and Bratz fairies along with fairies simply made from people’s creativity.

2. Beetlejuice Baddies

Beetlejuice is currently being shown on Paramount.

A big pop culture icon that’s standing out this year is Beetlejuice. This sudden surge in popularity is due to a Universal’s Halloween Horror Night house. It’s not just the iconic character himself; other characters such as Lydia, Adam, and Barbara are bound to be seen on the 31st.

3. Comeback Culture

Friends is now streaming on HBO Max.

With an excessive amount of reboots and specials, it’s not surprising that old trends are coming back. With the new HBO Max series, Gossip Girl is definitely a costume to be seen. Also on HBO Max is the Friends Special and the TV show itself. The show has never truly gone out of popularity, so you will definitely see more of these costumes this year.

4. Marvel Madness

WandaVision is now streaming on Disney+.

Marvel has always been a reliable option for Halloween. With brand new releases this year, don’t be surprised if you see more of characters such as Loki or if you see new characters like Shang-Chi.

5. Squid Game Frenzy

Squid Game is now streaming on Netflix.

With Squid Game being the most streamed show on Netflix in its entire history, it’s not surprising if you see many costumes based on the hit show this year. Whether you end up being the Front Man, player, or VIP, this is definitely an easy costume which won’t take too much time or effort.

Stay safe while having fun this year.
