Senior Night Lights Shine Brightly

As the nostalgia flows in and the future starts to seem closer than ever, ILS commemorates senior athletes to give them a Royal farewell.
Friday, November 5th, ILS held “Senior night,” an evening solely for the senior cheerleaders and football players to bask in the glory of their last year. The student body has a chance to demonstrate their love for the seniors and show them what they mean to the school.
ILS not only had an amazing and supportive senior night but the football team also played against Archbishop McCarthy leaving The Jungle victorious territory yet again.
“Senior night is one of the saddest and happiest times that I could’ve had. Even though we are leaving the school and graduating, we leave a legacy that will continue for years to come,” said senior football player, Carlos Gomez.
Many came in young with bright eyes pointed straight for the future. Some came a little later with the same determination, but all came with dreams.
“My goal for this year was to beat Belen and go undefeated which we successfully did. My relationship to the team is the brotherhood that we share and they are like a second family to me,” added Gómez.
After pushing through an amazing and historical season, the seniors in the football team ran out of the Helmet in pride and joy. They united together as family.
The seniors walked out with loved ones and gifts, waving a solemn “Thank You” to the school. Posters from peers and friends displayed as the crowd cheered on for the teams’ last Royal roar.
