This Friday, the Royal Lions (3-5) take on the Calvary Christian Eagles (8-1) as ILS looks to snap their two-game losing streak.

Following a devastating 44-8 loss to King’s Academy, the Royal Lions look to use the homecoming atmosphere to their advantage.

This week’s opponent has a very strong resume. Despite coming off a 35-7 loss to undefeated Gulliver Prep, Calvary Christian’s record stands at 8-1. They’ve defeated opponents such as North Broward Prep (28-7), Benjamin School (10-3), and King’s Academy (33-17).

The Royals look to avenge themselves after losing to the Eagles (30-18) last season.

In order to snap the two-game losing streak, the ILS offensive line and will have to step up to the plate. After giving up 4 sacks last week vs King’s Academy and 8 sacks vs St.Andrews, the o-line will have to do a better job protecting quarterback Francis Coronado from the Eagles defense.

Senior running back Emmanuel Joseph appears to be the biggest threat for the ILS defense.  Joseph rushed for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 33-17 win over King’s Academy.

Senior Linebacker’s Dominique Vidal and Lafonzo Ruffin look to put a stop to the run game. Both linebackers have sparked the defense this season, with both of them individually recording 10 sacks this season.

Game time is set for 7pm. Make sure to come out during homecoming night and show your school spirit as the Royal Lions look to pick up the win.
