“Wednesday” became one of the most streamed series of all time just two weeks after its debut.

Premiering the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 23rd, Wednesday, the series created and directed by Tim Burton, explores the theme of outcasts. It also follows Wednesday Addams coming to terms with her psychic abilities as she goes on to solve a supernatural mystery.

You may know Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams, from other performances:

  1. “The Fallout” as Vada Cavell
  2. “Scream” (2022) as Tara Carpenter
  3. “X” as Lorraine
  4. “Yes Day” as Katie Torres
  5. “Elena of Avalon” as Princess Isabel
  6. “You” as Ellie Alves
  7. “Jane the Virgin” as Young Jane
  8. “Stuck in the Middle” as Harley Diaz

Fun fact: Jenna Ortega who plays Wednesday Addams had Covid while filming the viral dance scene.

In just one week, Wednesday had clocked 341 million hours of views. Surpassing the popular Netflix show is “Stranger Things” season 4. Now after three weeks since its debut, “Wednesday” has amassed 752.5 million hours of views. It is already the 3rd most watched English language TV title in Netflix history behind “Stranger Things” season 4 and “Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story.”

“Wednesday” had also surpassed Netflix’s popular series, “The Crown.” The first two episodes of “The Crown” managed to hit 2.81 million and 2.87 million viewers respectively, meaning that they were nearly a million views short of “Wednesday.”

“I like the plot twists. It’s very mysterious and keeps you on your toes with not knowing who the monster is. I also like how you are also trying to figure out who the monster is while Wednesday is trying to figure it out,” explained sophomore,  Clarisa Peñaloza.
