Argentina is officially the World Cup champion. Going against France in the final and beating them on penalties, Argentina has waited at least 40 years for a third World Cup title. This is their first win since 1986. Lionel Messi put the Copa America holders ahead in the 23rd minute of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final against France. Messi’s side looked determined to be the champions as they survived a late comeback on penalties to secure a win.

Messi scored twice in the World Cup for the first time and very possibly saved the best career for his last run. This time, at 35, he became the first player to score in every round of a single tournament in the World Cup.

Wild energy swirled around Argentina throughout the tournament. Tens of thousands of Argentina fans marched the streets in celebration of their iconic win.

The celebration after Argentina’s win was not only insane in Buenos Aires, but right here in Miami as well. Every proud Argentinian came out on Sunday to show their support on the streets of Miami Beach. The streets were overwhelmed with laughter, joy, and tears of happiness. Most importantly, the overwhelming support for Lionel Messi is too much to describe.

Although this is a very happy win for Argentina, the iconic Lionel Messi has confirmed that Qatar will be his last World Cup. Messi will go down as not just one of the best soccer players to ever take the field, but one of the best devoted athletes. Messi is currently 35-years-old and will be 39 in four years. Argentina getting to take home the World Cup trophy with Messi by their side has meant the world to not only the players, but everyone in the country and fanatics as well.

And with that the 2022 FIFA World Cup has come to an end.
