Johnson, Melendez, and Tinilau Sign to Play College Football

Early National Signing Day takes place every year at high schools where student-athletes commit to play at the collegiate level with a particular institution of higher learning. This year, Wednesday, December 21, at 3 pm in ILS’ gym, Demetrius Johnson pledge to play for the University of South Dakota, Dario Melendez signed on with  Coastal Carolina University, Frankie Tinilau committed to the University of Miami

“These three football players will celebrate having submitted their letter of intent to play for these respective universities. Dario and Demetrius will have completed four full years at ILS which supported, guided, and coached these young men on their successful journey to secure scholarships and the ability to play football at the college level. Frankie will be become the FIRST student/athlete in ILS history to sign with one of the Power Five-universities which are part of the ACC, PAC 12, Big 10, SEC, or Big 12,” explained Coach Helder Valle.

Family, friends, ILS students/faculty/staff and local media, such as The Miami Herald were there to witness and   celebrate alongside the players.
