Freshmen, are you scared yet?….

It’s your first year of high school… so many new things you are experiencing, new people, new classes, new hobbies…

You might feel pretty overwhelmed with managing your time and your classes, but as Seniors, we can help you out!

Here are our top 10 tips on how to get through high school, ILS edition!

I spoke to 10 different seniors and asked them what they wish they knew coming in, and what they want to pass on to freshman.

1. Tiffany Davis – Immerse yourself in your environment and try to be nice to everyone but make sure not to make it your top priority… PRIORITIZE GRADES!!

2. Joshua Barquin – Take Mr Wexler’s class. He will challenge you to develop a good work ethic.

3. Ana Lynch – Try your hardest to get an A because getting a B challenges you to work for the A.

4. Angelina Cambo – Create relationships with your teachers, surround yourself with good people, and chose your close friends wisely.

5. Silvana Levito – Don’t give in to harsh words! Listen to yourself and stay on top of your grades.

6. Daniela Murcia – Get a job as soon as you can. You will learn responsibility, how to budget your own money, THE VALUE of everything you buy, and your parents will see that you are responsible:)

7. Stefano Chiodi – Don’t be afraid to start new things, including, clubs and sports. Try everything and don’t be scared to fail.

8. Demetrius Johnson – Take Mr Casado’s advice; but mostly take everything that is given to you by your teachers; they’ve been through it.

9. Sky Felfle – Friends come and go, but eventually you’re gonna find people that you click with; try to take advantage of clubs to find people with similar interests as you.

10. Alejandro Carles – Most importantly be present in the moment; thinking too much about the future causes too much stress, while thinking too much about the past only causes regret. Romanticize every aspect of life, especially the hard-to-bear moments.

Remember freshmen, your time here will pass by very quickly, so enjoy the small moments, know your worth, and USE YOUR TIME WISELY! You will get through this if you really work hard. As Seniors we know this to be true; always remember these are formative years of your life and being your true self will push you to become your best self! Good luck freshmen…..

With love,
Your Senior Class Of 2023
