Hello, Royals!

Boys Soccer: Boys Soccer District 15-3A Champions!!!

ILS Boys Varsity soccer defeated the #1 seeded Westminster Warriors 3-2 in over time. Royals scored 2 goals in the 1st half. Westminster scored the tying goal with :06 seconds remaining in regulation. ILS went down to 9 men in OT but was still able to create a chance by earning a penalty kick in OT. Santiago Sanchez sealed the victory, and his hat-trick (3 goals) to lead ILS to the win in front of Westminster’s huge home crowd.

The boys also took down SLAM Academy in the District semi-final 7-1!

Boys Basketball: Royal Lions Varsity basketball finished off the season with two dominating wins heading into the district tournament. They first took down Bridgeprep 65-36. The Team was led by Same Garcia who had a double-double with 17 pts 11 rebounds. Christian Paredes also had a nice dame adding 14 points and 6 rebounds.

The Royals also had their Senior Night game this week against International Studies Charter High school. They defeated them by a score of 60-27. Top performers in the game were Arman du Lau d’Alleman who had 17 pts and 8 rebounds. Alex Toledo with 11 points and 5 rebounds while Jason Cruz had 11 pts. Congrats to the seniors!

Girls Soccer: The Lady Royals almost upset the #1 seeded Ransom Everglades in the semi-final district match. They took the game to penalty kicks and just came up short. They will advance to Regional Tournament at Nova Southeastern University on Tuesday, February 7th.

Girls Basketball: We would also like to recognize the Girls’ Basketball team. The team had a great season finishing with one of their best records 15-7 and had a lot of accomplishments throughout. Thank you to all the seniors and coaches for all their hard work! We know the program will be ready when next season starts! GO ROYALS!

Tuesday, February 7, 2023: Boys’ Basketball opens the district tournament against Key West at St. Brendan. (If they win, they advance to Semi-final Wednesday)

Girls’ Soccer Travels to NSU for the Quarter Final Regional tournament. (If they win, they advance to Semi-final on Friday)

Wednesday, February 8, 2023: Boys’ Soccer Hosts Regional Quarterfinal vs Pinecrest 7pm.

Boys’ Basketball Semi-Final 5PM @ St. Brendan High vs TBD (If they win QF)

Thursday, February 9, 2023: The Tennis team opens up their season vs Florida Christian at Crandon Park.

Friday, February 10, 2023: Boys Basketball District Final @ St. Brendan High 7PM.

Cheerleading team travels to UCS for the National Competition in Orlando, Fl.
