Some are calling it the royal wedding of Hollywood, while others refer to it as the royal wedding of the year.

Sofia Richie, the 24-year-old model and youngest daughter of the legendary singer, Lionel Richie, and Elliot Grainge, a music executive and founder of 10K projects, got engaged in April 2022 after a year of dating. The couple’s families have collaborated since Elliot’s father is the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Groups.

The couple became engaged on a friend’s trip to Hawaii. Fom there wedding plans quickly commenced, taking about a year of planning. Ritchie paired up with Chanel to don a trio of dresses from archive Chanel, wearing one for each event: the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the after party.

“It has always been a dream of mine to have Chanel design my wedding dress,” she explained.

“At my first fitting at the Chanel salons in Paris, I immediately envisioned the dress I wanted to get married in: a beautiful lace-embroidered halter gown with a long train. Within the dress are subtle details, including an embroidered heart to represent the love that Elliot and I share, as well as a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above my heart,” she told Vogue

Grainge wore a Ralph Lauren suit to the rehearsal dinner and a Tom Ford suit for the actual ceremony.

The ceremony was at 6pm April 22 at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, a luxury hotel in Antibes, France. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez.

The wedding, a traditional Jewish ceremony, required that Ritchie convert. In addition, the couple first married state-side before tying the knot overseas in the south of France.
