The Miami Grand Prix is back!

The 2023 Miami Grand Prix took place the first weekend of May at the Miami International Autodrome. This year, Grand Prix took place in Miami, returning to the Sunshine State for the second edition.

THE PRINCIPLES OF F1
F1 is the highest class of international racing series in the world, featuring 10 teams and 20 drivers race in different locations all around the world for a year. The goal each driver and team have is to gain the greatest number of points by the end of the season. Whoever has the most points, wins world champion.
The way drivers win points is to end in the top 10. The higher up the driver ends up at the end of the race, the more points he receives. For example: if the diver ends in 1st place, he receives 25 points, 2nd receives 18 points, 3rd receives 15 points, and so on. One Point can also be given to the driver with the fastest lap of the race, but only if the driver finishes in the top 10.

F1 weekends are located all around the world and there are a total of 23 locations this year. The Miami Grand Prix was the 6th race of this season. Each location has a different track and they each have their challenges. In some they may be the turns, or the weather or the straights.

THE WEEKEND
The way the Miami Grand Prix was organized was:
Friday: Free Practice 1 & 2 take place in the afternoon
Saturday: Free Practice 3 and Qualifying
Sunday: Race

The weekend is filled with activities in addition to the F1 race such as a Porsche race on Saturday, concerts, the drivers’ parade, and the beach.  There are private lounges and many activities, games, stores, and a variety of food. There are millions of shows and activities throughout the weekend, especially in Miami.

F1 FANS AT ILS

I enjoyed watching the race so much! My favorite part was not the race, but it was the qualifying. It was the first Spanish-speaking pole of the season. The Mexican driver Sergio Perez first, and the two Spanish racers followed, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz.
