ChatGPT an, AI automated responder, is on everyone’s mind
When asked, it answers questions or tells users to do something. Anyone can use ChatGPT to write a paper, complete a project, develop ideas, create artificial images on software such as Photoshop, and so much more. It can even properly prepare complex and formal assignments, such as research papers.
“I have used ChatGPT to show me how to format a research paper or even just to show me what it should look like,” said Andrea De Armas, a senior.
Though ChatGPT has only been around for about a year, having been released on November 30, 2022, it has amassed roughly 180.5 million users to date. Created in order to help students as a tutoring tool, ChatGPT has now become the go-to methodology for getting work done ASAP. However, students now use it to cheat and have it do their work for them.
The above sentence, written by AI, amazingly speaks badly about itself! This goes to show that ChatGPT can be used for just about everything, making it a surefire way to be abused.
“I think it’s great as a resource to aid you in whatever you’re doing. But it can’t be a replacement to not do your work,” said theology teacher, Mr. Nicholas Shaheen.
Often many teachers admonish their classes by saying, “Do not use ChatGPT” whenever they give an assignment. Despite that warning, many students have started to depend on AI to “help” them do their homework and other assignments regardless of the wishes of any and all teachers.
