Hello, Royals!
Golf: This week the Royals split 1-1 to bring their season record to 5 wins and 2 loses. The boys shot their best round of the year vs St Brendan with a score of 175. Jeremy Agresti led the way with a 42. Pablo Carpenter and Connor Heilemann each shot a 43. Julien Bannel shot a 47. The lady Royals were led by Gianna Cusano who shot a 45 and 43 this week.
Volleyball: Varsity Volleyball is back on a winning streak! Marking their second streak this season with 5 straight wins or more. The team defeated 3 teams this week. Starting with Scheck Hillel Community School in straight sets (25-11, 25-8, 25-8). They also took down iMater Charter school only dropping 1 set (25-11, 25-27, 25-18 and 25-20). The third team they beat was SLAM Academy in straight sets (25-7, 25-8, 25-16).
Swimming: The Swimming team got to make up the meet they lost last week travling to Westminster Christian for a double dual meet with them and Carrollton. Here are some of the top performers in the match.
Kristen Bachmann: 200 free 2nd place & 50 free 1st place
Joaquin Espinal: 200 free 1st place & 100 fly 1st place
Emma Larralde: 100 fly 1st place
Rachel Larralde: 200 IM 2nd place & 100 breast 1st place
Cross Country: Your Royals Cross-Country team participated in two separate races this past week.
This past Wednesday the team traveled to Larry and Penny Thompson Park to compete at the Larry Wooten Invitational.
The boys finished 8th out of 21 teams – led by junior Daniel Brito who came 24th out of 173 total runners. The girls finished 14th and were led by senior Daysi Gonzalez who came 58th out of 114 total runners. The JV boys were led by sophomore Diego Figueroa-Valcourt who finished 86th out of 118 total runners.
The team then traveled to Hobe Sound, Fl to compete in the Pine School Invitational. Facing a rough and rugged course, both the boys and girl’s teams competed admirably in the toughest race of the season thus far!
The girls were led by junior Andrea Echeverria who finished 11th individually out of 118 total runners! The boys, who finished 8th overall as a team (out of 21 teams in total) were led by sophomore Nicolas Cabezon who finished 33rd out of 179 runners in total!
Football: The Football team won its Homecoming game 47-16 against Somerset Pembroke
Pines. The offense was led by QB Taylor Truath who went 14/21 for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns. Brandon Kinsey had 2 touchdowns for 45 yards. Tyronne Williams had a touchdown and 60 yards receiving while Joel Salien had the other touchdown and 29 yards receiving.
Special teams also had a big night with 2 returns. Dorian Mallory had a kickoff return while Terrance Smith JR had a punt Return.
Defensively the team played well. Tavarus Jone had an interception returned for a touchdown while Keondre Ponton also added an interception.

Tuesday, October 8, 2024 was SENIOR NIGHT! Come and join the girls VB team as they take on Mater Brickell for their senior night ceremony. 3:30PM and 5:00PM ceremony 4:45PM.
Swimming travels to Miami Country Day for a swimming meet. (Dismissal 1:45PM)
Golf takes on MAST Academy at Crandon Park. (Dismissal 2:00PM)

Opponent Miami Springs.
