The boys were led by Daniel Brito, Andrew Brito, Nicolas Cabezon, and Benjamin Pieri (6th overall, 10th overall, 21st overall, 23rd overall out of 120 total runners). The girls were led by Andrea Echeverria, Arianna Armas, Simone Prina, and Daysi Gonzalez (7th overall, 16th overall, 34th overall, 37th overall out of 97 total runners)The Pace invitational was the final meet of the regular season. The team performed admirably this past season, with several personal best times recorded for most of the runners on the team!The team will now turn its attention towards the District Championships on October 30th at Larry & Penny Thompson Park.Golf: The boys dropped a close match to a strong Gulliver team losing by only 3 strokes. Still, it was one of the team’s best rounds of the year shooting a combined score of 179. Leading scorer was Freshman Connor Heileman with a 42. Julien Bannel shot a 45, while Pablo Carpenter and Jeremy Agresti each shot 46.For the ladies, senior Gianna Cusano had another solid round with a score of 44 vs Lourdes.Senior day for the golf team is Monday vs MAST at Crandon.Volleyball: The ILS Volleyball team defeated iMater Prep in 4 sets (25-12, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-8) The team was led by Grace Blanco with 15 kills and Helenn Montilla with 10 kills. Juliana Hawley added 5 serving aces while Lara Potente added 2 blocks. With that win the team advance to the District Championship. They ended up losing in 5 sets to Downtown Doral in the Championship game, which ends their season. The girls finished the season with an 18-6 record. We want to thank the seniors, team and coaches for a tremendous season that we look to build off of for next year.Football: The Football team walked away with another win this weekend, defeating St. Brendan 14-7 in a rain and windy game. Santiago Robles led the attack for the Royals with 138 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. Taylor Trauth went 8/12 and 1 touchdown to Brandon Kinsey who caught 4 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.Defensively the team had another great game only giving up 1 touchdown. Daniel Marin led the team with 10 tackles on the night. Keondre Ponton had another interception on the night giving him 5 on the year.Sports Schedule:Monday, October 21, 2024: ILS Golf went up against MAST at Crandon Park. 2:00PMdismissal. Senior Day game!Tuesday, October 22, 2024: Golf went up against Florida ChristianFriday, October 25, 2024: Football takes on Mater Academy for a 7PM kick off at Milander Park.The Sailing team got back in action after some time off due to the storms. Sailors competed in the district qualifier for the Cressy Trophy – the Singlehand National Championship for High School sailing.Marina Wardlaw ’27 and Gabi Mascarenhas ’28 competed in the women’s event – with Marina finishing second and earning a spot to the National Championship in November!David Mateo Coates ’27, Beck Brill ’27, and Leonardo Terzani ’27 competed in the men’s event.All sailors represented well in this competitive event, which had been rescheduled from its previous planned date due to storm effects on the West Coast of Florida.
