The movie was directed by Jon M. Chu who is known for directing Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights. The movie stars Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. Grande, who has always dreamed of playing the role of Glinda, has been actively campaigning about her excitement for the part. She has been a fan of Wicked since she was a child and has mentioned in interviews how getting to play Glinda is a dream come true. Her stunning voice and bubbly personality are perfect for the role, and fans are already raving about her performance.
“I’m not usually a fan of musicals, but this movie was worth watching,” said sophomore Madison Baker.
Cynthia Erivo, known for her incredible singing talent and acting skills, plays Elphaba, the misunderstood and powerful Wicked Witch. The film will be split into two parts, which gives fans even more to look forward to. The musical’s unforgettable songs, such as “Defying Gravity” and “For Good,” are all included in the movie.There are so many magical moments to enjoy.
