Monday, January 6, 2025: Boys Basketball Travels to Dade Christian 6/7:30PM

Tuesday, January 7, 2025: Boys Varsity Soccer hosts St. Brendan 5PM

Wednesday, January 8, 2025: Girls Soccer hosts Lourdes JV 4:00PM Varsity 6PM

Thursday, January 9, 2025: Boys Soccer hosts Belen JV 4:00PM V 6PM

Friday, January 10, 2025: Girls Soccer Hosts Double Header vs St. Brendan 3/5PM

Boys Basketball: Royal’s Basketball JV team beat Dade Christian on the road 56-45. Lucas Montes de Oca had 14 points. Keondre Ponton with 17 points. JV boys also defeated Booker T at Home 65-32. Lucas Montes de Oca had 14 points. Keondre Ponton had 13 points

Varsity Boys split the week 1-1 losing on the road to a tough team Dade Christian. Mike Flores led the team with 19 points. Lucas Piedra added 10 points. Varsity boys defeated Booker T at home 58-27. Alessio Saumat had 16 points. Andres Ledon added 9 points going 3-5 from the three-point line. Boys have 3 games next week with 1 on the road and 2 here at home

Girls Basketball: Lady Royals basketball went 1-2 this week. They did pick up another good win against Florida Christian 51-15. Alex Gonzalez Casar had 15 points and Peilin Aguilar-Hou had 12 points. They dropped the next two games against Marathon and Ferguson but look to bounce back this week.

Girls Soccer: Lady Royals soccer went 1-1 this week. They dropped a tough match against Lourdes but did pick up a big win vs St. Brendan 2-0. Chiara Gutierrez 1 goal, Valentina Mangles 1 goal and Olivia Rodriguez-Salum had her 9th shutout.

ILS – 11-5

Boys Soccer: Royal Soccer varsity went 1-1 this week. They first picked up a dominating win 5-0 vs St. Brendan high. Fransico Walker had a big game scoring 4 goals and 1 assist, while Keven Ceballo added 1 goal and 1 assist. They also dropped a back-and-forth match vs Belen 2-3.

JV defeated Belen 2-0. Antonio Murcia and Jaime Eluate scored for the Royals while Sean Lui had 2 assists.

Track Season Highlights so Far

On the boys’ side, Dorian Mallary, Kennedy Garay, and Daniel Brito put on a show, each claiming first place in at least one of their events. Their speed, strength, and determination set the tone for the team’s success!

The girls’ team was on fire! Leading the charge were Arianna Armas, Nahia Riveros, Peilin Aguilar-Hou, Luna Fernandez, and Candy Cruz, all securing first-place finishes in their events. The girls’ 4x100m relay squad—featuring Krystal Inhoof, Nahia Riveros, Arantxa Santacana, and Abrielle Meyer—blazed around the track to win their event in style!

Tennis team on the rise!

Gabriella Punzo, who continues to have a great season, with an 8-3 win at the number 2 spot, and a great comeback win from Samatha Spetko in the number 3 spot, who after being 3-0 down, came back to win 8-6. On the boy’s side Alvaro Castro got a great win at the number 2 spot 8-6, and Nicolo Daulong got a vital tiebreak victory at the number 3 spot 9-8(10-6). Being a district team, this was a great win for the team in relation to the district seeing.

Sailing fun facts

ILS Sailing fielded both a Varsity team and Junior Varsity team – Skippers Keith Grupenhoff (’25) and Beck Brill (27’) were joined by Crew Soleil Aurignac (’25) in A division over the five races. B Division had Isabella Henrich (’26) and David Mateo Coates (’27) sharing skippering duties with Crew Nathalie Caudron (25’). This team won their division with 16 points over the five races. The combined score resulted in fifth place for the regatta - a very good finish.

The Junior Varsity team of Leonardo Terzani (’27) skippering A with Crew Diego de Teran (’28), and Marina Wardlaw (’27) sharing skippering duties in B division with Gabi Mascarenhas (’28). Crews Alejandro Escudero (27), and Arturo de la Cartaya (27) helped the JV team finish third overall with a combined score of 33 points for the 10 races.
