Here’s your weekly sports report and upcoming sports schedule.
Cheerleading: JV finished out their competitive season this weekend at the US Cheerleading Competition. They placed 1st and received the Best Pyramid Award!
Varsity continues to prep for the FHSAA Regionals this next weekend, and used this as a performance prep. They placed first and received the school Grand Champion award. Varsity Competes on Saturday for the region 4 Regionals in hopes to qualify for the state championship.
Girls Soccer: JV Girls soccer defeated Cardinal Gibbons 2-0.
Sara Moreno shutout. Ana Herian and Andrea Ordorica 1 goal each.
Girls Varsity tied 0–0 with Cardinal Gibbons. Olivia Rodriguez-Salum 10th shutout. Varsity dominated its senior night 8–0 vs Scheck Hillel. Daniella Priscal, Javiera Escobar, Amanda Villasmil, Valentina Mangles, Sarah Fox and Natalie Islami celebrated Senior Night
This year the boys and girls have a new district with different opponents. The girls team enters the district as the #1 seed! They will host the winner of Somerset Silver Palms (#4) and Killian (#5). That game will be on Monday 1/27 at 3:30PM. If they win that match Monday (1/27) they advance to the district championship on Wednesday 1/29 at 3:00PM at Gulliver.
Girls Basketball: ILS defeated Miami Sunset 41-18. Alexandra Gonzalez Casar 15 points 16 rebounds Peilin Aguilar-Hou 9 points 4 assists to improve to 11-3
ILS also defeated Posnack 45-26. Alexandra Gonzalez Casar with a season high 26 points 13 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals. Peilin Aguilar-Hou 6 points 6 assists 7 rebounds to improve to 12-3

Boys Soccer: Boys varsity went 1-1 the final week in the regular season. They first defeated a tough Cardinal Gibbons 2-0. They did fall 1-2 in their senior night match against a top ranked program in Scheck Hillel who has only lost 1 game all year.
This year the boys and girls have a new district with different opponents. The boys enter the district tournament as the #2 seed trying to win their 4th straight district title. They will host the winner of Somerset Silver Palms (#3) and Coral Shores (#6) on Friday at 3:30PM. Winner of Friday advances to championship final at Gulliver Prep Tuesday 1/28 at 3PM.
Boys Basketball: JV boys went 3-0 this week. They beat Mater Brickell 61-48
Lucas Montes de Oca had 19 points and Lucas Rivera contributed 16 points.
They defeated Palmer 46-45 in a nail biter at the end of the game. Great team win with Jude Brien contributing 13 points. They also took down JC Bermudez 53-47. Lucas Montes de Oca and Lorenzo Lopez both scored 13 points each
Varsity boys went 2-1 this week. Varsity beat Mater Brickell 75-63. Alessio Saumat led with 16 points. Andres Ledon added 14 points. Varsity dropped one versus Palmer Trinity here at home 73-53. Alessio Saumat led with 19 points. Andres Ledon contributed 9 points going 3-5 from 3. Varsity beat JC Bermudez 66-33. Alessio Saumat led with 13 points. Michael Flores added 11 points

Girls Basketball travels to Terra for a varsity match 5PM.
January 25, 2025: Cheerleading enters their playoff season with FHSAA Regional Competition at Coral Glades High school.
