Here is your sports report and upcoming sports schedule for last week.Boys Soccer: The Varsity team advanced to their 4thconsecutive district final defeating Somerset Silver Palms 3-1.Girls Basketball: ILS defeated iMater 37-31. Alexandra Gonzalez Casar had 15 points 15 rebounds. Peilin Aguilar Hou had 9 points 5 assists 6 rebounds. They also won against Terra 48-19. Alexandra Gonzalez Casar had 20 points, Ainoa Haliwa 8 points and Candy Cruz 9 points.Senior night Tuesday before their game. Record is 14-3 going into the final weekBoys Basketball: Varsity basketball team went 1-1 last week. They defeated AIE charter 64-58. Alessio Saumat had 17 points, Wesley Gordon had 15 points and Austin Dunbar had 10 points. They did drop a tough match against Monsignor pace but look to bounce back this week before starting district tournament.Senior Night Tuesday before their game.Cheerleading: Varsity Cheerleading competed at the Region 4 FHSAA Regional. The team finished in 3rd and is headed to the state semifinals on Friday in Lakeland! Team will perform tomorrow at the winter pep rally to get one more performance in before heading to STATES!SENIOR NIGHT will be on Monday, halftime of the girls’ varsity basketball game that starts at 6PM.Upcoming Sports Schedule:Monday, January 27, 2025: Girls Soccer host district semifinal vs Somerset Silver Palms for a 3PM start. Winner advances to championship game at Gulliver Wed. 1/29 3PM.They won!Basketball triple header vs Gulliver – JV 4:30PM, Girls – 6PM, Varsity B 7:30PM.Cheerleading senior night will be halftime of girl’s game.Tuesday, January 28, 2025: Boys Soccer district championship game vs Gulliver 3PM at Gulliver prep.Basketball Triple Header vs Don Soffer & Senior nights: JV 4:30PM, Girls senior night before start of the game 5:30pm (Game starts 6PM), Boys senior night before the game 7:00PM(7:30PM start).Wednesday, January 29, 2025: Girls Soccer District Championship game at Gulliver prep 3PM (If they win Monday).Thursday, January 30, 2025: Girls Varsity Basketball travels to Divine Savior for a 5PM tip.Here is your sailing report from this past weekend’s regattas.ILS Sailing traveled to St. Petersburg for the first ranking division regattas of the Season. All previous regattas were cancelled and/or rescheduled due to the active hurricane season which affected the west and east coasts of Florida. The two-day event was scored as two separate regattas, with points being awarded for finishing position – towards qualifying for a chance to race at the National Championships in the Spring.On Saturday for South Points 1 – Skipper Keith Grupenhoff (’25) and skipper David Mateo Coates (’27) were joined by Crew Soleil Aurignac and Crew Alejandro Escudero to finish 7th in A division.B Division had Isabella Henrich (’26) and Beck Brill (’27) sharing skippering duties while Crew Nathalie Caudron (25’) sailed all races finishing in 7th as well. The day started with the extremely cold lingering weather, and 12 races were sailed in Bayboro Harbor. It is a very puffy and shifty venue, and the Royals put in a solid performance, their combined scores had them finish 6th out of 17 teams.Sunday was a bit warmer, and the lineup was rearranged. SP 2 had Skippers Isabella Henrich, Beck Brill, and David Mateo Coates sharing skippering duties with Nathalie Caudron crewing to finish 8th in A division. Keith Grupenhoff and Soleil Aurignac sailed to a second-place finish in B division. The combined score for South Points 2 had ILS finish 4th out of 18 teams.A very good start to the season for the Royal Fleet, who will compete next weekend at South Points 3 hosted by Ransom Everglades School this Saturday February 1ston Biscayne Bay.
