Retreats offer many benefits, but they mostly bring closer relationships with God and friends, and even bring back new friendships. If you are not aware already, a Catholic retreat is a time away from daily life to focus on spiritual growth, prayer, and reflection.
Improving Faith through Retreats
Retreats give participants a chance to deepen their faith through activities like Eucharistic Adoration, and guided reflections. Retreats provide a peaceful space to reconnect with God, gain clarity, and find renewal.
In a busy world, retreats are important because they allow individuals to strengthen their faith and return to their lives with a deeper sense of purpose and connection to their Catholic beliefs.
”The Ignite retreat was a perfect balance between fun settings and reflective seatings in which we would pray. I am definitely doing it again,” said sophomore Isabella Iamunno.
Closer Friendships
A retreat can deepen friendships by providing a shared space for meaningful conversations, prayer, and reflection. The sense of community and shared goals fosters stronger connections, creating lasting friendships rooted in mutual understanding.
Retreats are not only a time of praying and reflection, as they also include a fun as well as spirited environment because they often feature group activities, games, and social time that allow participants to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
”The Ignite and Cornerstone retreats looked fun, like every photo people had smiles on their faces,” said sophomore Valentina Bustos.
The combination of spiritual growth and lighthearted moments create a joyful atmosphere, helping people connect on a deeper level while having fun and building lasting memories together.
New Friendships Made
Retreats are also a great way to meet new people. With group activities, games, and plenty of social time, you’ll get the chance to connect with others in a relaxed, social setting.
Whether it’s through shared experiences or casual conversations, making new friends is easy when everyone is there to enjoy themselves and connect. The united energy makes it a perfect opportunity to expand your circle and create lasting friendships.
”I really want to go to the retreat. It looks like so much fun, and I’m really bummed that I missed it this year,” said sophomore Isabella Baena.
