Softball: Last week the Lady royals had two games. Their first game was against Gulliver, whose Pitcher was on fire. We struggled to hit against her except for freshman Khloe Concepcion who had her dialed in. She had a solid double and scored one of our two runs. We held our own for three solid innings but lost in the end 16 to 2.
Our next game was against our rivals – Colonial Christian whom we were seeking redemption for our season opening loss. LaSalle rebounded well and won by a score of 21 to 6. Freshman pitcher Emma Arce was exceptional, and she also did it with the bat! She had two hits with 5 RBI’s! Other notables were Bryana Alvarez who had her first ever two hits and scored two runs. Other hitters include Daysi Gonzalez, and Khloe Concepcion who both had key hits and combined for five RBI’s.
Tennis: This past week the boys’ and girls’ tennis team had one game against Riviera Prep. With injuries in key positions, we knew this was going to be a tough match, and Riviera Prep have always had strong teams. This match was no different, both teams fought hard, but in the end, Riviera were just too strong on the day. The girls came away with a 6-1 loss, with the only win coming in the girls doubles 2 spots with a 6-1 win by Juliana Hawley and Agatha Morrsion. On the boy’s side, they also left with a 6-1 loss overall. The sole win came from Senior Juan Colimodio, who continues to frustrate those who he plays while also improving his own game.
Next week the team travel to Coral Shores for the reverse fixture where we hope to put a stop to the losses and pick up another win.
Beach Volleyball: The girls’ beach volleyball team finished the week with a third straight victory! The team played Doral on Monday and finished with a 3-2 win. On Tuesday, they swept Chaminade-Madonna (5-0). Next week, they face Lourdes and Florida Christian.
