Here’s you sports report and upcoming sports schedules for this week
Tennis: This past week the tennis team took a trip down to Coral Shores for the seasons reverse fixture. Getting a solid win in the home tie at the beginning of the season with both girls and boys getting 6-1 wins, the hope was to go one better and get the 7-0 sweep.
That hope came true with both the boys and girls getting all the wins in singles and all the wins in the doubles matches. There are 2 matches that deserve a special mention. First one goes to Simon Munera in the boys 1 spot who lost the home tie and after being 5-2 up, found himself 6-5 down before managing to get the win 9-7. Second special mention goes to Anabella Poleo who was 7-2 down before rattling off 7 straight games to take the win 9-7.
Great performance from the entire team against a district opponent. Next week sees a single match against a very tough opponent in Spruce Creek from the Tampa area.
Baseball: The Varsity Baseball team went 1-1 this past week with a 5-0 road loss to True North Academy and a 2-0 home win vs Archbishop Coleman Carrol. The Royals now sit at 8-3 through the halfway mark of the season and are looking to continue their solid play into the second half of the spring.
