April 1st has come and gone, but that does not mean mean the time for pranks is over. Whether you want to trick your friends, joke with your teachers (in a nice way), or get a good laugh at home, here are five harmless, but hilarious pranks to try.
1. The Frozen Cereal Trick
Want to mess with someone’s breakfast? Pour a bowl of cereal and milk the night before, then put it in the freezer. In the morning, serve it like normal and watch their face when they try to scoop up a spoonful of frozen cereal! It’s a great way to start the day with a laugh.
“I love pranking on April Fools Day!” Exclaimed sophomore Isabella Sanchez.
2. The Backward Outfit Challenge
Get your whole class to wear their clothes backward for the day—but don’t tell the teacher! Imagine their reaction when they walk in and see everyone looking like they got dressed in the dark. It’s even funnier if everyone pretends nothing is weird.
“April Fools’ is the best day for harmless pranks that make everyone laugh,” said sophomore Mayte Tassitch.
3. The “Broken” Remote
This one is great for messing with someone who loves TV. Put a small piece of clear tape over the sensor on the remote. No matter how many times they press the buttons, the TV won’t change channels. Watch them struggle before you finally tell them what’s wrong!
“Pranks should be fun, not mean. It’s about having a good laugh together,” shared sophomore Mia Casanueva.
4. The Funny Auto-Correct Prank
If you can get to a friend’s or sibling’s phone (with permission, of course), change their auto-correct settings so normal words turn into something silly. Make “yes” change to “I love broccoli” or “okay” turn into “Banana pancakes forever!” The texts they send will be hilarious.
5. The Upside-Down Screen Trick
On a computer, press Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow (on Windows) or Command + Option + 8 (on Mac) to flip the screen upside down. When the person tries to use their computer, they’ll have no idea what happened! Just make sure to flip it back later.
April Fools’ Day is all about having fun, but remember, make sure your pranks don’t hurt or upset anyone. Have fun and happy pranking.
