Going to a music festival is usually always an exciting and great experience, but it is always important to stay safe. The big crowds and adrenaline can be a cause for problems so it is advised to be aware of your surroundings. Luckily, there are many tips and tricks to staying safe at a music festival.
“I’ve never been to a music festival. I know that eventually when I do go to one I’m going to plan everything out well and make sure to go in a group so that I am safe,” shared sophomore Victoria Caicedo.
Whether you’re attending Coachella or Ultra, going with a group of friends is always a great idea. Most importantly set a meeting point that the group is aware of, in case anyone gets lost. Aside from group safety, another important thing is to stay hydrated especially if you’re deep in the crowd. Having people all around might have you feeling trapped, so if you know that this might be a problem, stick to the back of the crowd.
“I attended the music festival Rolling Loud and I honestly was impressed with their organization skills. They would throw water packs into the crowd through the entire event to make sure everyone stayed hydrated. It was a great experience overall and I recommend it,” shared sophomore Ashley Gomez when asked about her experience.
Though there are a lot of things that could go sideways, most festivals are very well planned out and have great security measures. Going to a music festival is a great experience that you will remember be definitely worth it.
“If I could go to any music festival in the world right now I think I would go to Coachella. I like the line up of artists this year and I wish I could go. I will definitely be going with a group of friends one year,” shared sophomore Camila Echeverri.
