Scene 1
INT. KEITH’S HOUSE – MORNING
Scene starts with the (Keith, 37) man, giving his back to the
audience, looking at the wall in front of him, sitting
criss-crossed on the yellow-ish carpet floor. Keith is staring
intently at the wall, seeming paranoid, as if there was
something behind it, something not visible to the audience. The
camera switches to in front of him, showing that he is wearing a
work suit and pants which are quite the wrong length for his
legs so it exposes his mismatching green and yellow socks, but
not yet showing his face.
The camera then starts slowly zooming into the wall, to Keith’s
face, and back, cuts getting faster until he is interrupted by
loud knocking.
Keith, startled, opens the door slowly to reveal his neighbor,
TONY, 32, A short average looking American man with short cut
brown hair.
NEIGHBOR (TONY) Page 2
(Walks in to the room looking around, expression somewhat
uncomfortable)
KEITH
(Startled, turns around to face him)(Stares at Tony for a couple
seconds with a completely blank look, and then breaks out of the
dissociation and scrambles for words.) Hello…? Hi
TONY
(putting on a friendly voice but visibility seems a little bit
annoyed)Okay.. Well, we have the neighborhood meeting this
afternoon and it’s mandatory for all new residents to attend.
This building is strict on our rules and we want everyone to get
along fine and you know, keep things safe.
KEITH
(flinches)
Alright.. Got it.
There’s a moment of silence as Tony and Keith just stand there.
KEITHPage 3
Ok well I have to be on my way to work now. I think I’m late
already.
Keith lazily gestures for Tony to leave and Tony exits.
TONY
Have a good day!. I’ll see you at the meeting. Don’t forget!
(Keith looks blankly at the door for a minute, then turns around
and goes straight to his bedroom, with robot-like mannerisms)
(Camera pans into the wall, staring at it and zooming in slowly
and then going black, ending the scene)
EXT. CAR WASH PLACE – DAY
(Keith is standing behind the counter, with empty, blank looking
eyes, disassociating. He is now dressed completely different,
wearing the store uniform, which is a simple grey shirt and
khaki pants. The store is mostly empty, except for maybe two or
three people standing in line in front of the counter.)
CUSTOMER Page 4
Hello? Hello?! Excuse me!
KEITH
(Breaking out of the state of dissociating)
Oh? Yes, I apologize sir, What can I do for you? (Frantic)
CUSTOMER
Finally! (He says this in an annoyed tone, looking visibly
flustered) Can’t believe it takes this long to get service
around here.. I’m looking for a basic exterior car wash, nothing
fancy.
KEITH
Or course! That will be 16.99 with tax, you can pay over here
(points to credit card receiver machine). Just take your car
through the space to the left of the establishment, and somebody
will receive the car there.
CUSTOMER
Yeah, okay. Next time do your job faster… (taps his card, then
puts it back in his wallet and leaves)
KEITH. Page 5Sorry for the slow service today. Have a nice day(He says to the
costumer, even though he is too far away to really hear. He
sighs and rubs his eyes, as though exhausted, even though it’s
literally still morning) Next in line, please!
Montage of customers walking in and out of the car wash, while
Keith still has the same annoyed expression on his face.
The work day comes to an end and Keith starts closing down the
shop, Camera zooms into his receding hairline, tired eyes, and
sweaty hand
CUT-
EXT. STREET – LATE AFTERNOON
(Keith is walking slowly, on his way home. He kicks a rock
tiredly, and something hits his briefcase, so he checks on it,
and then looks at his hands intently, camera showing skin
texture)
CUT-
INT. HOUSE EVENING
Page 6
(Keith enters the house, leaning against his front door and
dropping his briefcase, and kind of sliding down a bit. He
slides off his shoes and then notices something sitting on top
of the moving boxes in his living room: a wine bottle with a
note that indicates it was given to him by Tony, his neighbor.)
KEITH
Hm.
Keith stares at the wine bottle, the label reading “For a good
neighbor” He squints at it as if trying to make sense of it.
His face is blank, distant, and confused for a moment, before he
lifts the bottle in his hand and examines it closer, shaking it
gently. The bottle is unopened, but there’s something unsettling
about the gesture, as though he’s trying to make sure it’s real.
His hand trembles slightly as he sets the bottle down on the
coffee table.
The camera lingers on his hand, noticing how stiff and
deliberate each movement is.
Page 7Keith then walks into his room and realizes that the blinds were
left open in his room the whole work shift. He comes up to the
wall with a curious yet unsettled look on his face. It seemed to
him that the walls had appeared as a red-ish sort of tint color
to it than in the morning where it just looked like regular
beige walls. But it was specifically more on the wall that the
windows were facing. He starts touching every inch of the walls
with unsettling music playing meanwhile. After touching the main
four walls in his room he goes into his closet. The closet has
the only regular walls. It is painted black. Then the man is
startled by the sudden knocking at his door and stares at the
door out of fear
TONY
Hello, it’s just me
KEITH
(Opens door with a confused look)
Uh.. How did you get in here?
TONY
Well, you left your front door unlocked but first, sorry that I
startled you. I should have called but secondly, (says in a
Page 8
jokingly manner but also concerned)what were you doing touching
every square inch possible of your walls?
KEITH
Um well they just felt a little odd to me. (Starts going on a
rant while talking swiftly) I mean in the morning these walls
were a regular beige color and now they look as if I was under
the sun for hours with no sunscreen. The walls feel too smooth
like no wall ever before and why does it look all fla- wait… How
did you see me?!?!
TONY
tone)
Gee,I wonder how (he says sarcastically, but still in a playful
(Tony points at the uncovered windows facing the whole
neighborhood)
KEITH
(Talks swiftly) Uh ok not my point but as I was saying why do
the walls look all flakey now? And as I said, in the morning the
walls were just smooth looking walls with a solid color of
Page 9beige. Plus, why does the closet have normal black painted walls
and not the room?
TONY
(Kind of weirded out by the Keith’s irrational behavior)
Look.. You have just moved in and your new job has just started,
it’s all of the stress and overthinking that has you not
thinking straight. Sometimes you just need to rest, got it?
KEITH
(Hesitant, but also exhausted) I.. I guess you’re right. I’ll
try to sleep it off, and hopefully this whole thing will go away
(in a calmer tone, relaxed)
Tony
Okay, great! Rest well and I’ll see you tomorrow!
(You can hear Tony cheerfully leaving Keith’s house, but the
camera only shows Keith’s eyes slowly closing.)
CUT-
INT. KEITH’S HOUSE NIGHT
Page 10
(The scene starts with Keith’s eyes opened wide, staring at the
ceiling of his bedroom. He had been unable to sleep, and looked
even more tired than before. Desperate to be able to rest, Keith
decided to go check out his walls once more, to try and get some
peace of mind, anything that would hint to him imagining
everything. This time, though, Keith remembered to close all of
his windows and lock his doors, with a face filled with dread
and concern. He is taking pictures of the walls with an actual
professional camera, but not only of his room but the whole
house because he noticed that the walls in the rest of the house
are also a solid beige and he wanted to compare the walls in his
room to the rest of the house.)
(Keith prints out all of the 124 pictures he took and slowly
analyzes every single one of them. As he is analyzing he
realizes that there are some sort of outlines subtly indented.
They were so subtle only someone who was putting all of their
attention to the walls could have noticed. He decides to gather
each of the 124 photos of the walls in each pair of socks he
has. He has 2 boxes filled with socks so in total it would be
about 300 pairs)
INT. KEITH’S HOUSE – MIDNIGHT Page 11Keith sits in his room surrounded by stacks of printed photos,
markers, and a flashlight. His face is pale, and his eyes look
nervously around the room as if expecting something to come from
the shadows. The scratching sound from earlier grows louder, it
seems to be coming from inside the walls.
KEITH
(Whispering) What.. is this?
He grabs the flashlight and shines it on the wall where the
sound seems to be the strongest. His hands shake as he
approaches the wall. The camera zooms in on the wall, showing
some indentations forming sort of a pattern.
(He picks up a marker and begins tracing the indentations,
connecting them like if he were making a puzzle. The scratching
suddenly stops, and the room is silent. He freezes, listening
with concern.)
CUT-
INT. KEITH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAWN
Page 12
Keith seemingly hasn’t slept, reddish-purple bags under his
eyes. He stands in the living room of his house staring at the
wall covered in photos and lines made with a red marker, among
other things. The patterns made with the red lines now seem to
start to look like some kind of strange map. His focus is broken
by a sudden knock on the door, disturbing his silence and his
train of thought; startling him and making him basically jump.
He hesitates before opening the door, but ends up deciding to
open it anyway. The gap of light of the slow opening door
reveals Tony cheerfully holding a coffee mug.
TONY
(In a casual way) Morning! Saw your lights on all night,
everything okay?
KEITH
(Avoiding eye contact) Yeah, fine. I just… I couldn’t sleep
last night..
TONY
Oh..
(He tilts his head, looking past him to the pictures)(Tony walks up to the walls and stands there in silence for
about 10 seconds. Tony has a serious yet curious look on his
face.
TONY Page 13
Ok uh.. could you explain what this is?
(Keith steps in front of the wall, trying to block Tony’s view,
but Tony doesn’t even spare him a glance before walking around
him to be able to see the wall again, inspecting the patterns.)
KEITH
(He pulls Tony away from the wall lightly and puts an awkward
look to his face)
Um nothing really, just practicing some of my photography
skills.
TONY
(Shrugs, looking confused) Wow (Says sarcastically)”Skills” you
say. Never knew that one could ever achieve such great and
engaging photos of plain colored walls.
Page 14
(Tony pats him on the back and then sets the coffee mug down on
the table. He turns to leave but turns around again when he is
at the door, only to find Keith staring at the wall again. He
looks at him with a cynical but frightened look on his face. The
door closes, and Keith quickly changes his attention to the mug,
noticing a very light fingerprint smudge on the handle.)
CUT-
INT. KEITH’S BEDROOM – NIGHT
Keith lies in bed, staring at the ceiling. His breathing is very
strong. He sits up, grabbing the flashlight and a hammer. He
approaches the wall carefully, his movements slow and calculated
Keith raises the hammer and strikes the wall but not hard enough
to make a hole, just a reddish-looking dent appears. The sound
suddenly echoes through the room. Keith, confused by the wall’s
reaction, continues hitting the wall harder and harder until a
small hole appears. He shines the flashlight into the hole, his
face was that of a mix of curiosity and anticipation, his
cautious movements quickly transitioned into aggressive strikes
into the wall with a kitchen knife. Once there was a big hole
left in his wall he realized the wall looked almost as if it wasstarting to sag from Keith cutting into the walls. Keith listens
to his gut and decides to grab the sagging part of the wall.
Once he does, it is then revealed that the walls in his room are
made out of skin. He starts to do the same process to the rest
of his walls and then it is also revealed that every single wall
in his house is made of skin. Keith then realizes that he did
not peel the skin in one of the walls in his bedroom. He runs
into his room, peels of the skin in the wall, but behind it says
“Keith 01/23/19 –
01/25/19 (closet next)”
Keith
January 23, 2019. That’s the day I moved in here.
January 25, 2019. That’s today
(The camera pans to his face as his expression changes to one of
shock, fear. The screen cuts to black, leaving the audience in
suspense.)
FADE OUT-
INT – TONY’S HOUSE – NIGHT
(Tony is sitting by his desk, casually writing on paper
documents, drinking a coffee from a mug matching the one he had
just given the Keith, there is ambient music in the background,
which is quickly interrupted by a loud bang. Tony, startled,
falls from his chair and looks around for where the sound might
have come from)
TONY
What the hell…? (Tony gets up and picks up his chair, and
decides to ignore that and go back to his work, though still a
little disturbed.)
An even louder thud comes barely a minute after the first one,
and then another one after, making the whole floor tremble and
knocking everything off of Tony’s desk. Tony immediately gets up
Page 16
and runs out the door to see what was happening, and as soon as
he opens it the thuds get so loud they are basically unbearable.
Tony recognizes where the sound is coming from and frantically
runs to Keith’s home. He starts banging on the door with both
arms, to no avail because nobody came to the door.
TONY
What is happening? Open the door! Open the goddamn door!(He tries to open the door, but it is locked, which Keith hadn’t
done before. Suddenly, the thuds stop completely, and do not
return. Tony is left standing there, in front of Keith’s door)
TONY
Hello..? Oh, to hell with this.
(He semi-softly punches the door out of frustration and goes
back to his own home.)
Camera shows Tony slamming the door closed, and then pans into
the texture of the wooden door in complete silence.
CUT –
EXT – POARCH OF TONY’S HOUSE – DAY. Page 17
(Tony looks at his watch hurriedly, seemingly impatient for
something, as if waiting for somebody. His expression
immediately changes as he greets a couple of neighbors but as
soon as they leave, his face distorts into one of annoyment,
scoffing while looking back at his watch, and then at Keith’s
house. As he sees no movements, he grabs his briefcase, and
starts taking quick, angry steps to leave.)
TONY
Where is he? What possibly could have happened last night? (He
mutters to himself while walking fast to the bus station, almost
running because he was about to miss his bus to work. As he saw
the bus pulling over to the bus stop, he started actually
running because he was still pretty far from it. He waved his
arms in the air, hoping the bus driver would see him and wait a
minute or two for him, but he stopped in his tracks as the bus
quickly left.)
TONY
Oh, that’s it!
(He says now fully angry and frustrated, turning around 180 and
confidently walking towards his house. Some neighbors looked at
him in complete confusion, but he went straight home. As he
Page 18
entered his house, he left the door open wide, threw his
briefcase and started frantically looking for something. He
threw things around almost in a panic.)
TONY
Where could I have put it?….
(He sighs, agitated)
(He continued searching until he found a little silver key. He
grabbed it and ran to Keith’s house.)Tony
Sorry, about this
(He murmurs to himself, still agitated and trying to calm down
as he quietly puts the key in the key lock, and twists the door
handle as soon as he hears the ‘click’ of the gears twisting. He
opens the door slowly.)
TONY
Hello..? Is anybody home?..
(He calls out, not quite yelling, because his breathing was
still ragged from the running, but in a loud enough tone that
anyone inside the home would hear. He got no response other than
absolute silence.)
TONY. Page 19
Uh, excuse me… Hello?..
(Tony comes in the house very slowly, and is faced with complete
darkness. He uses his hand to blindly fish for the light switch,
but doesn’t seem to find it; instead, he finds a flashlight on
the floor, so he grabs it and starts looking around.)
TONY
Hello?! Oh, Jesus..
(His voice is strained and his footsteps are quiet as he
searches every room and if found with nothing. The bedroom is
the only room left unexplored, so Tony slowly approaches the
door and knocks twice —mostly out of respect than of any
expectation of Keith being there— before entering the room.)
TONY
Oh.. Oh my God!
(Tony is now fully panicking as he sees a pool of blood on the
floor, with parts of the walls ripped out, very disgusting
looking parts, almost life-like.. human-like. He slowly backs
away, and in between all of this mess he sees Keith sitting in a
fetal position, rocking back and forth, unresponsive to the
situation. He runs up to Keith)
TONY. Page 20
What the hell happened? Are you hurt? Should.. should I call an
ambulance?
(He runs to him, grabs his shoulders and starts shaking him,
trying to get the man to look at him)
TONY
Why aren’t you responding? Whats happening?(Tony keeps trying to communicate with Keith, and we see him
from Keith’s perspective, and the scene ends with both the audio
and video fading out into nothing)
FADE OUT –
FADE IN –
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM – DAY
Tony sits in a plastic chair that is not very comfortable, with
his leg moving to show he is nervous. The camera moves to show
Keith lying in a hospital bed, staring at the ceiling. The walls
of the hospital room are light blue, a continuation of the scene
before
TONY. Page 21
(Looking at Keith, worried)
I don’t know what’s going on with you, but… you need help. A lot
of help.
Keith doesn’t respond. His fingers move a little as his eyes
quickly stare to the window, where the blinds are half-up. The
camera focuses on the shadows of the blinds on the wall, which
look like the shadows from his house.
TONY
(Sighs, leaning forward)
The doctors said you’re fine physically. But you and I both know
this—(moving his hands gesturing towards Keith)—this isn’t
normal.
KEITH
(Still staring at the ceiling)
The walls… they’re alive.
TONY
(Sits back, startled)
What are you talking about?
Page 22
Keith slowly turns his head to look at Tony, his expression
extremely calm.
KEITH
They’re not just walls.
(The sound of faint scratching fills the room, Tony looks
around, confused.)
TONYDo you hear that?
Keith nods slowly, his eyes slowly closing.
KEITH
They followed me here.
The scratching grows louder, and the camera focuses to the
corner of the room, where the shadows deepen in an unnatural
way.
CUT-
INT. TONY’S LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
Page 23
Tony sits in his recliner, a drink in hand. His leg bounces
anxiously as he scrolls through his phone, searching for
answers. He finds articles about hauntings, psychological
breakdowns, and unexplained phenomena flash across the screen.
TONY
(Under his breath)
This is crazy. It’s just stress.
He looks quickly at the walls of his living room. They’re plain
and nothing special about them, but his eyes stare on them as if
expecting something to happen. The room is silent except for the
faint background noise of the refrigerator.(The camera slowly
zooms in on the wall behind Tony. A subtle rippling sound moves
across the surface. Tony doesn’t notice.)
CUT-
INT. KEITH’S HOUSE – NIGHT
A team of workers is in Keith’s house, repairing the damage to
the walls. The camera focuses on one worker as he runs his hand
along the interior of the wall, with a frowning face.
WORKER 1
Page 24
(To the other worker)
This doesn’t feel right.
WORKER 2
(Laughing)
What, you are scared of a little mold?
WORKER 1
It’s not mold. It’s… I don’t know.He pulls back a piece of the wall, showing something strange
looking, The camera zooms in as the strange thing begins moving
and the movement speeds up. The worker stumbles back, dropping
his flashlight.
WORKER 1
What the hell is that?!
The other worker approaches cautiously, leaning in to get a
closer look. Suddenly, a loud cracking sound echoes through the
house, and the lights flicker. Both workers freeze.
WORKER 2
Page 25
(Backing away)
We’re done here.
FADE OUT –
INT. TONY’S BEDROOM- NIGHT
Tony lies in bed, unable to sleep. His phone buzzes on the
nightstand, and he takes a quick look at it. It’s a text from
an unknown number
