As the 2024–2025 school year ends, we proudly reflect on an extraordinary year for ILS Athletics. Across all three seasons, our student-athletes demonstrated unwavering dedication, sportsmanship, and a commitment to excellence that brought pride to our school community. From historic firsts to sustained success, this year will be remembered as one of the most accomplished in our athletic history.

Fall Sports Highlights
- Swimming: The fall season kicked off with a bang, culminating in a Girls’ Swimming Runner-Up District trophy, a tremendous achievement that added another piece of hardware to our growing trophy case along with sending some swimmers to states!
- Golf & Cross Country: Our XC & Golf programs are growing stronger each season, with a dedicated team of athletes pushing themselves to new heights. This year has been exceptional, with improved performance, increased participation, and a great sense of camaraderie among the players
- Girls Volleyball: Continued their impressive tradition by reaching the District Championship for the 4th consecutive year.
- Football: Made school history by advancing to the program’s first-ever Regional Championship, marking a milestone in the team’s growth and determination.
Winter Sports Highlights
- Cheerleading: Maintained their dominant legacy with a State Runner-Up finish, continuing to be one of the most decorated programs on campus.
- Girls Soccer: Captured their 3rd trophy in 7 years and the 11th in program history, solidifying their status as a perennial powerhouse.
- Boys Soccer: Advanced to their 4th District Championship Final, adding another strong chapter to their competitive tradition.
- Girls Basketball: Delivered one of their best seasons in school history, finishing with an impressive 17-5 overall record.
- Boys Basketball: Fought hard all season, securing quality playoff wins and showcasing depth and resilience.
Spring Sports Highlights
- Tennis: Continued to shine, sending another standout athlete to the State Championships, all while competing in one of the toughest districts in the city.
- Softball: Displayed heart and determination all season long, making strong strides in a competitive field.
- Baseball: Reached the District Championship for the first time in over a decade, marking a significant turnaround for the program.
- Beach Volleyball: Broke new ground with a 9-8 season and a trip to their first-ever Regional Playoff.
- Boys Volleyball: Made history by capturing the program’s first District Championship, followed by a thrilling run to the Regional Championship Game.
- Track & Field: Achieved unprecedented success:
- Boys Track: Won their 3rd consecutive District Championship
- Girls Track: Claimed District Runner-Up for the 3rd year in a row
- Broke 19 school records
- Achieved multiple State Podium Finishes
- Widely regarded as the most successful track season in ILS history
- Sailing Team: had another impressive year, showing resilience and skill on the water.
With 3 student-athletes signing to sail at the collegiate level, the program continues to gain national recognition. Their consistent presence at regional regattas and strong finishes reflects a program on the rise. - The Dance Team delivered a standout season, performing at games, pep rallies, and school events. Their polished performances and team unity earned top marks at local competitions. A cornerstone of school spirit, the team continues to grow in talent.
College Signees
A testament to the hard work and talent across our athletic programs, 13 student-athletes signed national letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA institutions:
- Football – 4 signees – University of South Florida, Keiser University, Western Illinois, St. John’s University
- Baseball – 4 signees – St. Thomas University (2), Tallahassee State College, Savannah State
- Sailing – 3 signees – Rollins College, Northeastern University, University of Rhode Island
- Boys Soccer – 1 signee – Suffolk University
- Girls Volleyball – 1 signee – Manhattan University
