Summer is finally here! School is out, the sun is shining, and it’s the perfect time to relax and have fun. Whether you’re staying local or going on a trip, there are plenty of great ways to make the most of your summer break.
“Every summer I visit my family in Italy,” said sophomore Gabriela Punzo.
One classic activity is heading to the beach or pool. Swimming, building sandcastles, or just soaking up the sun can make for a great day. Just remember to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated! If it’s too hot, catch a movie at the theater or host a movie night with friends and snacks.
“This summer I’m going to Spain with my friends,” shared sophomore Isabella Sanchez.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, summer is a great time to explore nature. Go for a hike, ride your bike, or plan a picnic at a nearby park. You could even try backyard camping or spending a night at a real campsite under the stars.
Summer is also the perfect time to try something new. Learn to cook, start a journal, take up painting, or practice an instrument. These hobbies can be both enjoyable and rewarding.
If you’re looking for a little adventure, consider visiting an amusement park, museum, or zoo. Local fairs and festivals often offer rides, games, and delicious food.
Another meaningful way to spend your time is by volunteering. Helping out at an animal shelter, food bank, or community event can be a great way to give back and stay active.
Whether you’re traveling or staying home, there are so many ways to appreciate summer. Try new things, spend time with friends and family, and make memories that will last. No matter how big or small the adventure, summer is what you make of it—so make it count.
