The ILS Band held one final, memorable performance before closing the 2024–2025 school year, bringing the season to a heartfelt close.
The annual Band Banquet was hosted by the band with the support of band families, who contributed a generous assortment of food and drinks.

During the banquet, the band performed two pieces: “December Sky” and “Silver Scepter” dubbed “Silver Surfer” by Mr. A, that’s band leader Armando Alicandu, a nod to his sense of humor and connection with the students.
The event served as a time of reflection, showcasing highlights from the past year. A slideshow played clips of performances and tributes to the graduating seniors, Etienne Ferrel and Miguel Suarez-Cabal, honoring their contributions to the band.

In the spirit of fun and recognition, the band also created a series of “Most Likely To” awards for its members, similar to the campaign run by the school’s teachers on the ILS Instagram page. The awards added a personal and humorous touch to the evening and was the best way to finalize the evening and event.
Band Director Armando Alicandu said, “It is amazing how much the band has grown this year and how fast the newer members improved with their instruments.”
This will be the last Band Banquet with Band Director and beloved teacher Mr. A.
“We cannot have these many GOATS (abbreviation for greatest of all time) leaving the school this year,” said freshman Steven Garcia referring to Mr.Alicandu and Mr. Jose Luna, Theology, leaving the school.
