Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show
February 4, 2020
On Sunday, February 2, Super Bowl LIV took place in Miami with an incredible halftime show featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
This year’s halftime show was by far one of the greatest shows in history. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira put together this show and included J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Emee Muñiz as guests.
The halftime show was about 15 minutes long, and was the first Super Bowl halftime show for these two Latinas. It was noted that there was a lot of female representation this Super Bowl with the first woman coaching and these two being the headlines of the halftime show
This show was surely one to remember, it included topics of immigration as well as their countries Puerto Rico and Colombia. Not only that, but Emee, Lopez’s daughter made a special appearance and shared the stage with her mom. Lopez’s fiancé, Miami native and potential Hall of Fame baseball player Alex Rodriguez, posted a video from the field during the performance that has since gone viral.
Both artists sang their hit songs and at the end of their performances they joined together as one. Their performance carried out a special message of empowerment. Some people felt there show itself was a little racy, and perhaps not appropriate for younger children, but that’s been the case with several Super Bowl halftime shows in the past.
This was by far one of the best halftime shows in history, and really brought out Miami’s Latin roots.
