Football: Late Score Sinks Solid Team Effort in 13-10 Loss.
In a game that saw great strides on both sides of the ball, our team fell just short in the preseason matchup vs Gulliver Prep, losing 13-10 after a late fourth-quarter score by the opposition.
Despite the final score, the team showed encouraging signs throughout. The offense, featuring several new faces in key positions, moved the ball efficiently and controlled the tempo for much of the game. Timing and chemistry continue to develop, but the unit already looks cohesive and comfortable under pressure.
Defensively, the group picked up right where it left off last season tough, disciplined, and relentless. The defense held strong for most of the game, forcing multiple turnovers and keeping the opposing offense out of rhythm. Even with late-game fatigue, the unit battled until the final whistle.
While the loss stings, the performance offers plenty to build on as the team prepares for the regular season home opener.
Volleyball: Girls Varsity Volleyball Shows Fight Despite Preseason Woes.
The girl’s varsity volleyball team opened their preseason schedule with two hard-fought matches, showing grit and potential despite dropping both contests.
The opener against FCS went the distance, with the team battling through a tense three-set thriller. While the result didn’t swing in our favor, the team’s toughness and competitive energy stood out.
In their second match, the girls faced a strong Carrollton squad. Despite flashes of sharp play and solid communication on the court, the team couldn’t quite find a consistent rhythm and ultimately fell short.
They look to bounce back this week with their season opener at Mater Brickell on Wednesday.
