A new candy shop has opened in Coral Gables, and it is already getting lots of attention. Scandy Candy, located in the heart of Coral Gables, Miracle Mile, brings Swedish candy to Miami with bright colors, new flavors, and a fun way to shop.
When you walk inside, you see rows of gummies, licorice, chocolates, and sour candies. The store follows a Swedish candy tradition called “lösgodis,” which means “pick and mix.” Instead of buying one type of candy in a package, customers grab a bag, scoop up many different kinds, and then pay by the pound. At Scandy Candy, the cost is $15 per pound.

Many students say this makes candy shopping more exciting.
“I love that you can pick and mix so many types of candy. It feels more fun than just buying a regular candy bar,” said senior Alessandra Alvarez, who visited with her friends.
The shop is already becoming a popular place for students and families in Coral Gables. Its colorful candy bins and special Swedish flavors make it stand out from other sweet shops nearby.
“I think it’s exciting because we don’t usually see Swedish candy here. My favorite is the sour watermelon pieces; they’re so good,” said senior Isabella Martinez.
Scandy Candy doesn’t just sell candy. It also has Swedish sodas and chocolates, giving customers a small taste of the Scandinavian. They also sell packs of individual certain candies, so you don’t have to buy it by the pound. The shop’s design is bright and cheerful, making people want to stay longer and look around.
Senior Carlota Machado said it’s about more than just candy:
“It’s an experience. The store is so colorful and happy that it makes you want to come back. I think I’ve been literally five times already,” she said.
With its mix of new flavors and a fun shopping style, Scandy Candy is quickly becoming one of the sweetest new spots on Miracle Mile.
