It was a memorable and exciting week at ILS. Let’s take a moment to thank our administration, athletic staff, coaches, faculty and staff volunteers, parent volunteers, and our media and streaming team along with everyone who came out to the football game on Friday. Your support and enthusiasm were truly felt and are greatly appreciated.
The football team’s win on Friday wasn’t the only highlight of the week our girls swim team also had an outstanding performance at their district meet, finishing as district runners-up with only four girls on the team! An incredible accomplishment and adding another trophy to the Royal case.

Swimming: SWIM TEAM MAKES A SPLASH AT DISTRICTS!
Our swim team had an incredible showing at the 1A District Championships on Friday! With only four girls, our small but mighty team brought home the Girls District Runner-Up Trophy and a pile of medals, proving that determination, teamwork, and heart can achieve amazing results!
Girls Relay Highlights:
- 200 Medley Relay (2:15.48) – 2nd place and automatic Regional Qualifier
- 200 Free Relay (1:59.94) – 2nd place and automatic Regional Qualifier
- Overall Women’s Team Ranking – 2nd place finish with 185 points
Boys Relay Highlights:
- 200 Free Relay (2:06.94) – 7th place
- Overall Men’s Team Ranking – 6th place finish with 77.5 points

- Showed tremendous growth this season, closing out with his strongest races yet in the 50 Free (39.20) and 100 Free (1:30.54)!

- Ended the season on a high note, showing determination and growth in both the 50 Free (40.69) and 100 Free (1:27.24)!
The team wrapped up a fantastic regular season full of growth, spirit, and success. Next up: Regionals at Nova Southeastern University on Friday, October 31st, where Emma, Barbara, Kristen, Sabina, and Mathias will represent ILS and continue to make waves!

Football: Royals Rally Late to Defeat Mater Academy for the NFL Rivalries match up!
NFL Rivalries week was capped off with a thrilling Friday nightmatchup, with the Royals pulling off a dramatic 21–18 comeback victory over Mater Academy Charter, sealing the win on their final drive of the game.
Trailing 18–14 in the fourth quarter, quarterback Nate Merrell Jr. led a clutch 66-yard game-winning drive, capped off by a 5-yard touchdown pass to Adrian Cox. The Royals’ offense showed poise and precision when it mattered most, with Merrell finishing 14 of 19 for 111 yards and two touchdowns through the air, along with 15 rushing yards.
Cox played a pivotal role on both the ground and in the passing game, scoring twice once on a 4-yard run in the second quarter and again on the decisive 5-yard reception in the fourth. Kamari Vasquez opened the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown catch from Merrell in the first quarter.
On the receiving end, Tyrone Williams led all pass catchers with four receptions for 63 yards, while Vasquez and Cox combined for the team’s two touchdown catches.
With the win, La Salle improves to another strong mark late in the season and stays undefeated at 9-0.
Golf: The golf team finished their season with a senior day victory over Divine Savior. Senior Francisco Pages shot a 47 and Pablo Carpenter shot a 49. Junior Federico Gil led all players with a 38 to finish in 1st place. Senior Karina Holcombe shot a 63 to finish the regular season. Sophia Estrada shot her season best 43 vs Doral and Gulliver.
The golf team plays their district tournament Monday at a Miami Shores.
Volleyball: The Immaculata-La Salle Royals volleyball team capped off a memorable season with a strong showing in the regional playoffs, ultimately falling to the No. 3 seeded St.Andrews. Despite the tough finish, the Royals achieved their highest regional ranking in program history and added another district championship to their growing legacy.
This year’s team continued to raise the bar for excellence on and off the court, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the season.
A special thank you goes out to our four seniors for their leadership and commitment, as well as to the entire team and coaching staff for their hard work and dedication in making this season one to remember.

Monday, October 27, 2025: The golf team has the district tournament Monday, October 27 at Miami Shores and will be absent from school all day.
Thursday, October 30, 2025: XC team competed at the 305 Classic at Larry and Penny Park.
Football team closes out the season at Dr. Krop (Ives Park). (Moved from Friday, awaiting confirmation)
Friday, October 31, 2025: Swimming Regionals at NSU starting at 9AM.
