Swimming: ILS Swim Team Shines at Regionals!
Our Royal Lion swimmers made waves at the Regional Championships this past Friday, finishing the season strong with incredible performances!
Emma Larralde placed 6th overall in the 100 Breaststroke with an impressive time of 1:12.37, earning 13 points for the team! She also finished 9th in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 56.41, adding another 9 points to the total.
Barbara Espinal delivered solid swims, placing 22nd in the 100 Butterfly (1:18.78) and 19th in the 200 Individual Medley (2:41.58) – both personal bests!
Mathias Alvarado capped off his senior season with standout performances, placing 14th in the 100 Freestyle (50.92) and tied for 15th in the 50 Freestyle (23.17), earning valuable team points along the way.
With only three swimmers competing, the Royal Lions showed heart, speed, and school pride, each setting personal bests and representing Immaculata-La Salle with excellence.
A special shoutout to Senior Mathias Alvarado – congratulations on a fantastic season and best wishes in all your future endeavors!

Football: The ILS Royal Lions closed out an incredible regular season with a dominant 31-0 win over Dr. Krop, finishing the year with a perfect 10-0 record. This marks the program’s second undefeated regular season in the past seven years a testament to the team’s hard work, focus, and consistency.
With the victory, the Lions are hopeful to have secured the No. 1 seed in the regional tournament. If so, the road to the state championship will run through The Jungle, where the Lions have remained unbeaten and nearly unstoppable. Bracket release is scheduled for November 6th.
XC: The ILS XC team completed their regular season this past Thursday at the Jr. Orange Bowl Invitational at Larry and Penny Thompson Park. In a crowded field, the boys placed 12th overall and the girls placed 13th overall.
The boys were led by sophomore Felipe Garcia Correa (42nd overall, 18:56) and the girls were led by senior Andrea Echeverria who closed off her regular season career with a personal best time (21st overall, 22:14). With that time, Andrea is now the 5th all time fastest runner amongst all girls that have attended ILS.
The team now enters the post season with the District Championship scheduled for this upcoming Thursday, November 6th at Larry and Penny Thompson Park.
Golf: The ILS golf team ended districts with a strong 4th place finish. Gilberto Morales led the team with a round of 80. Connor Heilemann shot an 81. Federico Gil shot an 86 and Francisco Pages shot an 87. Senior Pablo Carpenter ended his season with a 91. Overall, it was a great season for the boys as they continue to grow the program and improve each year.
The girls’ team was led by Sophia Estrada who shot a 95 and Sofia Olarte who shot a 103. Senior Karina Holcombe ended her season with a 116. The girls team looks to continue the success next season.
Freshman Gilberto Morales was the only Royal Lion golfer to advance to Regionals which will take place Monday, November 3 at The Park Palm Beach at 8am.
