What To Do When Your Sport’s Season Is Over
February 20, 2020
As the school year is slowly reaching an end, more and more sports are getting out of season. Many student-athletes wonder what to do when this happens and how to fill the void.
Most coaches recommend for you to catch up on your school work or social life. This is the best time for you to bring your grades up since you’ll be free to make up any work and study for upcoming tests.
In sports, this is something extremely important since your not allowed to participate unless you have good grades. You at least need to have a 2.0 GPA to participate in any sports team. While your sport is in season, it’s practically your life. This is a good time to rekindle friendships and go out more often before the season starts up again.
Something else you could do is catch up on shows, social media, and much more. You miss out on a lot of this while your focused on your sport so now is the perfect time to catch up.
Another thing that many sports teams are doing is conditioning. Conditioning on your free time or with your team during your off season will truly help your performance in the future. This could help you stay in shape and possibly even get better than you were before. An example of teams that are conditioning are the football players and some cheerleaders.
You need to be extremely committed to your team and this is truly what you as an individual and in general, a team better.
When asked about what to do during your offseason sophomore football player, Luis Bodden said “I recommend for others to pick what they love and put 110% into it and always believe in themselves.”
A sport is really fun when you love it so choose what you love and put all your heart into it.
Happy offseason to everyone!
