As students return to school after winter break, many are thinking about their goals for the new year and how they spent their time off. Junior Jaime Eulate shared his experiences from the holidays and his plans moving forward as he starts the new semester.
During Christmas break, Jaime traveled to South Carolina with his family. While there, he spent most of his time relaxing and enjoying being away from school stress.
“I spent a lot of time with my family and played golf while I was there,” Jaime said.
He explained that the trip helped him reset before starting a new semester and gave him time to clear his mind. Being away from school also helped him feel less stressed and more prepared to come back.
At school, Jaime is involved in Link Club which helps new students feel welcome and supported when they first arrive. Being part of a club has helped him feel more connected to the school community. Jaime said that being involved at school makes his experience more enjoyable.
As the new year begins, Jaime has set a clear goal for himself. His New Year’s resolution is to improve his grades and stay more focused in school.
“I really want to do better academically this year and push myself more,” he said.
Jaime hopes that by staying organized and managing his time better, he can reach his goals.
Jaime also shared his favorite New Year’s memory, which took place at the beach. He said watching fireworks by the ocean stood out as a special moment. The experience made the start of the new year feel exciting and memorable.
Hearing about how students spend their breaks and set goals matters because many students can relate to balancing school, family, and personal growth. Stories like Jaime’s show that students across campus are thinking about self-improvement while still making time to enjoy meaningful moments with friends and family.
