The ILS Boys Soccer team is set to wind up their regular season today January 15, against the American Heritage Patriots at their home. This season the Royal Lions featured an overall record of four wins, five draws, and only two losses. They’ll be looking to qualify to districts and then states after just falling short last season. This season has seen many highs, such as winning 12-0 against the Miami Christian Victors and 6-0 against the St. John Paul II Eagles, but also lows such as the unlucky 2-1 loss against the St. Thomas Raiders.
Tenth grader Santiago Garcia Palau, a member of the club SALTT, is a devoted soccer fan and always cheers on the Boys Soccer team whenever they play.
“I really hope the team can end the season in good fashion and if possible, make districts to eventually make it to states,”he said.
Another sophomore Samuel Armas, a player on the ILS boys JV soccer team, is also a fan of the team, having several friends on the team, with JV and Varsity sharing practices often.
“From what I’ve seen, the team this year is really good as well as united as a family, and they are capable of achieving all their goals, and I hope they can really do it,” he said.
Sophomore Luca Drago in the ILS Volleyball team also follows the soccer team and shares similar opinions, too.
“Whenever I can, I always try to watch the soccer games live and whenever I do, I always see a high level of skill and passion that could win games and even important trophies such as districts,” he said.
With the final match of the season set to take place today against the Patriots, make sure to go out and support the Royal Boys’
