Girls’ Soccer officially brought home the district championship after an intense and well-fought 3–1 win. From the start of the game, the team played with confidence, energy, and the kind of chemistry you can’t teach.
Both teams came out strong, but it was clear early on that our girls were locked in. Passes were sharp, communication was constant, and everyone on the field knew their role. Instead of panicking under pressure, the team stayed calm and played smart, which made all the difference as the game went on.
Senior Alessandra Alvarez said the win was something the team had been working toward all season.
In the second half, the team really pulled away. The defense stayed solid and didn’t give the other team many chances to score, while the offense kept pushing and creating opportunities. When the final whistle blew, the excitement was unreal as players ran onto the field to celebrate together.
According to senior Senna Trafton, teamwork was the biggest reason for the win.
That bond goes way beyond the field. The girls are constantly together, at practice, on the bus, and even outside of soccer. That closeness shows in the way they play.
“We really do love each other,” said senior Bryanna Alvarez. “We’re more than teammates. We’re like a family, and that makes us want to fight even harder for each other.”
For the seniors, this win means even more since it’s their final season playing together. Every game now feels emotional knowing their high school soccer careers are coming to an end.
“It hasn’t really hit me yet that this is our last year,” Alessandra said. “Getting to win districts with this group is something I’ll never forget.”
Even with the celebration, the team knows the job isn’t finished. Their next game is regionals Monday at 6 p.m., and they’re ready to carry this momentum forward.
With their skill, heart, and unbreakable team bond, this group of girls has already made their season unforgettable and they’re not done yet.
