Hello, ILS,
Here’s your Sunday Sports report and sports schedule.
Girls Soccer: The girls soccer team claimed back-to-back district championships with a strong 3–1 victory over Gulliver. With the win, they earned the #6 seed in the regional playoffs and will travel to face MAST Academy on Monday. The team continues to set the standard and looks to carry their momentum into postseason play.
Boys Soccer: The boys soccer season came to an end this week with a 2–0 loss to Gulliver in the district championship game. Despite a strong strength of schedule that put the team in position for a possible regional playoff berth, several lower-ranked automatic qualifiers earned spots instead.
Thank you to all our seniors and players for an outstanding season. This group set the standard, and we’re confident they’ll be back next year competing for a state title.
Girls Basketball: Girl’s basketball wrapped up their regular season this week and will now turn their focus to postseason play. We will be hosting the District Girls Basketball Playoffs, including both the semifinal and championship rounds. The girls enter the tournament as the #2 seed and will face the winner of Ransom Everglades and Edison in the district semifinal.
Boys Basketball: Boys basketball closed out the regular season strong and locked in the #3 seed for the district tournament. The team will defend home court on Tuesday as they host Miami Edison, with a trip to SLAM on the line to face Ransom on Thursday. Let the postseason run begin.
Cheerleading: The ILS Cheerleading Program competed at the UCA High School Nationals after qualifying in December, capping off another memorable season on the national stage.
Varsity delivered a solid performance in the preliminary round and advanced to semifinals. Competing in an extremely tough division, the team came up just short of qualifying for finals but represented ILS with energy, discipline, and pride.
JV qualified directly into the semifinal round and put together a strong showing, narrowly missing a spot in the finals.
This season was defined by growth, resilience, and hard work from start to finish, and the future of the program continues to look bright. We’re excited to build on this experience and come back even stronger next season. A special thank you to our three senior cheerleaders for their four years of dedication, leadership, and commitment to the ILS Cheerleading Program. Their impact goes far beyond competition mats, and they leave behind a legacy that will continue to raise the standard for years to come.
