Hello, Royals,
Here’s your Sunday sport report and upcoming sports schedule.
Girls Soccer: The Girls Soccer team delivered an unforgettable performance in the Regional Quarterfinal, defeating MAST Academy 4–3 in a thrilling extra-time battle.
In a game filled with intensity, resilience, and clutch moments, the girls refused to back down. After battling through regulation in a tight contest, they found another gear in overtime, sealing the victory and keeping their postseason run alive.
With the win, the team advances to the Regional Semifinal, where they will face Pinecrest on Monday. The journey continues and this group is showing they’re built for big moments.
Girls Basketball: The Girls Basketball team battled in a close, hard-fought District Championship game but ultimately came up just short. Despite the loss, the girls walked off the court with their heads held high after an incredible performance and a season to be proud of.
This marked the program’s first District Championship appearance since 2014 a major milestone that speaks to the growth, resilience, and commitment of this team.
They have been locked in as the #2 seed in the region for most of the season, with Carrollton holding the #1 spot. While they’ve consistently held that position, we’re not sure if the district championship loss will impact their ranking. We will find out their official final seed tomorrow when the regional brackets are released.
No matter where they land, this team has proven they are ready to compete at the highest level. Stay tuned for updates as we prepare for regionals.
Boys Basketball: The Boys Basketball team battled hard in the District Semifinal but came up just short against Ransom, 54–49. It was a tough, physical game from start to finish, and our boys competed every possession.
Despite the loss, the season is far from over. Thanks to their strong body of work and high ranking, the team is still in position to earn a spot in the Regional Playoffs. Regional seedings will be released Monday, and we’ll share updates as soon as we know whether they’re moving on.
Stay tuned this group isn’t done yet.
Baseball: The Baseball team opened preseason play with a tough matchup against COHEA, coming up short in their first outing. Despite the setback, the team showed resilience and quickly regrouped for game two.
The boys bounced back in a big way, dominating South Dade with an impressive 15–2 victory. The offense came alive at the plate, and the pitching staff set the tone early to secure the win.
A strong response and great early-season momentum as the team continues to prepare for the regular season
