Freshmen and seniors had a chance to bond through a number of games, laughs and some advice on how to get through high school. The day at Immaculata-La Salle High School turned out to be one that will stay long in the memory of all students.

As always, many different types of games took place – from playing with water balloons to scavenger hunts, water games and so much more. The participants engaged in many activities which encouraged teamwork and competition while also having fun in the company of their classmates. These activities allowed students to step away from their normal school routines and enjoy time together.

“It was nice to have a chance to bond with my grade and get to know people who we normally won’t talk to,” said senior Federico Rojas.

The games gave freshmen and seniors an opportunity to interact with each other and become more comfortable around students from a different grade.

Another memorable part of the day was a set of “going into high school” skits. Seniors demonstrated short plays based on various experiences that students might have during high school. In addition, these skits turned out to be pretty funny and relatable, and freshmen could see something of their future in them. The skits also gave seniors a way to share some of their experiences while entertaining the younger students.

Finally, seniors delivered short speeches giving offering freshman advice to help them spend their time at school the best possible way by teaching them to create good memories, and not hesitate to try new experiences. The speeches gave freshmen the opportunity to hear directly from students who have already gone through several years of high school.

“High school passes quickly, and you need to try to make the best use of your time at school,” said senior Valeria Rojas.

This event made not only a great day but also a chance for freshmen to hear from seniors about school life and, at the same time, for seniors to share their experiences. Freshman and Senior Day showed the importance of building connections between different grades and creating a welcoming school community. Between the games, skits, speeches and time spent together, students were able to have fun while learning from one another.
