The gymnasium was packed as the senior class filed through the heavy double doors, holding their fresh, brand new yearbooks tight against their chests. The theme for this year’s book was “Low-key,” which focused on all the quiet, behind-the-scenes moments throughout the entire school year alongside the bigger high energy events.
Once everyone sat down across the bleachers, students immediately started flipping through the pages to check out the layout, photos, and class spreads.
The opening page set the tone for the entire book with the header “Between the calm and crazy” and the main tagline “Lowkey… Except When It Wasn’t,” highlighting how quickly quiet study sessions, small victories, and everyday habits turned into loud game days, performances, and major school celebrations.
After spending plenty of time looking over the photo pages and reading through the written stories, the signing portion of the afternoon officially started. Students pulled out colorful markers, highlighters, and pens, passing their yearbooks around to collect signatures from everyone in the room. They wrote heartfelt notes, shared favorite memories, and left hilarious inside jokes on the blank endpapers and cover margins. People constantly bounced around between different friend groups across the gym floor to make sure they got messages from close friends, lab partners, teammates, and favorite teachers before the final bell rang for afternoon dismissal.
The whole gathering gave everyone a special chance to pause and reconnect for one of the last times as a full graduating class. Friends stood together in wide, casual circles sharing stories about their favorite classes, energetic sports games, late-night cramming sessions, and silly hallway moments while constantly swapping markers with each other.
As the afternoon wrapped up, students capped their pens, carefully packed up their newly signed yearbooks, and headed out the double doors to go home. Everyone walked away with pages full of meaningful personal notes and truly unforgettable memories that perfectly captured their entire high school journey.
