Immaculata-La Salle High School celebrated Latin American culture, music, food, and traditions during its annual Féria Latina, bringing students and families together for a day filled with activities and entertainment.
The celebration began with a Mass, allowing the school community to come together in prayer before the festivities began. After Mass, students and families gathered for the main event, where different activities and attractions highlighted the diversity of Latin American cultures.
One of the main attractions was the variety of foods from different countries. Students had the opportunity to try traditional dishes and experience flavors from across Latin America. Music also filled the event, creating an energetic atmosphere as students walked around, participated in activities, and spent time with friends.
“I really liked how there were so many different foods and activities because it made the event feel like everyone was included,” said junior Claudia Marin.
The event offered more than food. Students could visit a video game station, participate in Just Dance, and enjoy other interactive activities throughout the celebration. A piñata was also part of the festivities, giving students another way to participate in a traditional Latin American activity.
The Lionettes, ILS’ dance team, also performed for the crowd. Their performance added another form of entertainment to the celebration and allowed students to showcase their talents.
Sophomore Miranda Omana said the event was a good opportunity for students to enjoy themselves while learning about different cultures.
“My favorite part was being able to spend time with my friends while enjoying all the different activities,” Miranda said.
With music playing and students moving from one activity to another, Féria Latina created an atmosphere that brought the school community together. The event gave students a chance to celebrate Latin American culture while enjoying time with their classmates.
Junior Santiago Quiroga said the variety of activities helped make the celebration memorable.
From Mass to traditional food, dancing, games and music, Féria Latina gave the ILS community an opportunity to celebrate culture, school spirit, and togetherness.
