Every year, students from Miami Learning Experience School visit ILS to participate in this special event. Miami Learning Experience serves students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome and autism. On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Immaculata-La Salle High School hosted its annual Miracle Walk, bringing students together for a day filled with friendship, excitement, and inclusion. During the event, ILS students joined the visitors as they walked around the school’s track, spent time together, and made everyone feel welcomed. The Miracle Walk has become a special tradition that students look forward to each year because of the friendships and memories created.
“The Miracle Walk is something I enjoy because it brings everyone together and shows how important it is to make others feel included,” said science teacher Ms. Nicole Maribona.
The Miracle Walk gives ILS students the opportunity to connect with others, build friendships, and understand the importance of kindness. Members of LINK Club help support the event and encourage students to participate. The club’s secretary also plays a role in helping promote inclusion and making sure the visiting students have a positive experience. The walk is not about competition or finishing first, but about spending time together and creating memories. For many students, it is also a chance to step outside their usual school routine, meet new people, and learn how small actions can make someone feel appreciated.

Throughout the event, students had the chance to meet new people, share conversations, and enjoy the experience. The Miracle Walk is not only held at ILS, but also takes place at other schools and locations, including Coral Gables, helping spread its message of inclusion throughout the community. The tradition reminds students that everyone deserves to feel accepted and appreciated, regardless of their differences. It also encourages students to carry these lessons beyond the event and practice kindness in their everyday lives. The Miracle Walk continues to represent the importance of friendship, acceptance, and making everyone feel like they belong.
“It’s amazing to see a tradition continue for 20 years because it shows how much our school cares about making everyone feel like they belong,” said junior Sienna Rice.
