The ILS Varsity Cheer Team competed virtually this weekend at UCA Regionals for a bid to Nationals. Coming off a previous successful season, the girls are back to competing despite several setbacks such as a late start to their season.

From December 7th to December 11th, the team recorded their video to send in to UCA.

“Everyone put their heart and soul into what they were doing, and we definitely got what we were looking for in the end,” said Co-Captain, senior Ana V Salazar when asked about how filming went.

They have recently submitted their video and the competitor will air on Varsity TV on Sunday and awards will be announced virtually at 5:30 PM that same day.

The team is competing in order to receive a bid to UCA Nationals at Walt Disney World in mid to late March.

After this, the next competitions they will attend are FHSAA Regionals and States, hoping to gain another state title.

“My goal for this is to have as good of a season as last years or an even better one,” said Salazar.

Here’s to another wonderful season, Royals!
