College application season is in full force and along with the seemingly endless enrollment forms seniors have to complete, they must start looking into potential scholarship opportunities.

ILS Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Laura Moya, has been sending out weekly emails informing students of a multitude of scholarships that may be available to them.

“Mrs. Moya’s emails have been a huge lifesaver for me,” said senior Fernanda Valdez. “I’ve been able to find a bunch of different scholarships and have begun applying already.”

Here are the March scholarships Mrs. Moya has sent out to the seniors:

1) Louie Family Foundation Scholarships – $4,000 – 25 Awards (Deadline: March 15, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be a freshman in the 2021-2022 academic year at a U.S. accredited college/university.
  • Have a cumulative, un-weighted grade point average between 3.7 and 4.0.
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1300 (out of 1600) or a minimum ACT score of 27.

2) FEEA Scholarships – $5,000 – 400 Awards (Deadline: March 25, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be children, step-children, or legal dependents of full- or part-time permanent federal civilian or postal workers employed with the federal government for more than three years

3) No Essay YDI Scholarship – $2,222 – 1 Award (Deadline: March 29, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.
  • Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in a high school.

4) NC Scholarships – $2,000 – 12 Awards (Deadline: March 31, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a high school senior or a student enrolled at an accredited college or university located within the United States.
  • Have a GPA of at least 2.5.

5) SP High School Scholarship – $10,000 – 10 Awards (Deadline: March 31, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be a high school student planning to attend college in September 2021.
  • Answer the Essay question on the sponsors website.
