The iPad program at ILS began in 2012 and since then, the school has always given the graduating senior class the latest model of iPad Apple has to offer. This class of 2021 will be graduating with Apple’s newest 8th generation iPad. 

The seniors are expected to return their current “older” model iPad to ILS on their last day of school. More information with details of this will be shared with seniors. 

The new iPad they will receive will be brand new and not ILS restricted. It is also compatible with the Apple Pencil. 

“After four years of having an iPad to do school work, I feel like it’s become a part of me and being able to get a new iPad to take to college without restrictions just adds to the things I’ll be able to do with it,” said senior Yohance Forde.

The seniors also get to select which color iPad they would like to receive. A link was sent out with a survey with three different color options.  

Seniors are very appreciative for the ability to choose the color of the iPad they will receive and many have different opinions on which was the best choice. 

“I found it really cool that we were able to pick what color iPad we get. I chose the silver one since we’ve had the space gray for the past four years,” said senior Veronica Eulate-Gimenez. 

“I personally find gold to be the prettiest of all the options so that was the one I chose,” said senior Sophia Rabelo. 

Seniors were also sent a survey asking the condition of their iPad. Seniors who have cracks or any damages on their device are expected to answer honestly.

“I think having this iPad swap is really cool because we get to leave with a brand new iPad but it also means that our time at ILS is really over which is pretty crazy to think about,” said senior Jimena Vazquez. 

This year, the senior iPad swap will take place on Friday, May 21st. By then, all seniors would have completed all their finals and would be preparing for graduation.
