On March 23rd, 2021 Demi Lovato’s new documentary series, “Dancing with the Devil”, was released to the public on YouTube Originals.

The series explains what happened to the singer over two years ago and what lead up to the unfortunate overdose. Demi said she wanted this documentary to be very transparent and lay out all the facts.

The series starts off with explaining how the singer fell of the wagon and wasn’t sober in her 2018 world tour. She was shooting another documentary at the time (a documentary to show how she was better) which gave an inside look to how she slowly came off the rails and started using again.

Unfortunately this time Demi got into harder drugs like, opioids, heroin, and what caused her overdose, fentanyl. Because of her overdose she suffered from three strokes, temporary blindness, and many other life long injuries.

This overdose was a wake up wake for the singer, as the series progresses she explains that addiction is a series disease and a constant battle. She even goes as far to reveal she relapsed after her near death overdose even though she desperately wanted to quit.

Although it’s not all bad as towards the end of the series where it catches up with present time and covid. We see that quarantine has helped her in many ways and that she is managing her addiction.

Many fans praised Demi on the new documentary series for being so open and sharing her side of the story. For them they had to wait over two years to know what really happened to their favorite singer. In a way she was able to give her fan base closure.

The series really highlights the struggles of mental illness and addiction and how maybe you can’t ever get rid of them but how you can learn to fight back.

Demi Lovato has now released her new album along with the documentary series and has titled the same as the show, “Dancing with the Devil.”

Many fans are happy to see the singer now flourishing in her new skin and doing better than ever.

Senior Noor Andre says: “I really love her music and thinks she’s a great role model, so to see her go through so much pain and struggle is really sad. But I’m really happy now that I know she’s doing better.”
