ILS Cross Country Expands
Sophomore Colette Finley, Team Captain
ILS athletes have been eager to get back to sports, especially after COVID-19 affected team practice and competition. Their highly anticipated first meet was September 2nd.
The team has conditioning and training every day except Sunday Weekdays they workout from 3:15 to 4:45 pm, and Saturdays from 7 to 9 am. Last year, the team had a smaller group and since last season the team has grown significantly. The Team Captain for girls is sophomore Colette Finley.
“I’m sure my team and I will get more and more confident into the season…lots of more people have joined,” she said.
Coaches Ieradi and Gomez said freshman Justin Pastor,“Constantly remind us to push ourselves in practice and are excellent motivators.”
Team members have expressed that a few short-term goals such as remaining dedicated and attending all practices. Long-term goals include going to states.With new freshmen and returning runners, the teams looks forward to a great season, and to making ILS proud.
