Get ready! The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is coming up soon and the official nominations list has already debuted. The date, as of early December, is January 31st.

Here are the list of the first several categories:

1. Record Of the Year

I personally think that the winner is going to be Kiss Me More. It’s extremely popular, especially on TikTok, and that all has a lot of power. It also is a really good pop album, with super well liked artists like Doja Cat and SZA. It wouldn’t be their first time winning an award for their songs, either.

2. Album of the Year

It definitely will be either Sour, by Olivia Rodrigo, or Evermore, by Taylor Swift. I think that they will be extremely close to a tie, but Sour just has more buzz. Rodrigo’s tour actually sold out almost instantly after being released. Again, it’s an extremely popular album on TikTok. Swift has a lot of dedicated fans who will vote for her, and it’s a really good album, so it will be cutting close.

3. Song of the Year 

I think that Happier than Ever, by Billie Eilish, has a real chance of winning this one. It’s well liked and highly streamed. Eilish, as well as most of the nominees for Pop, have a super loyal following and have the ability to help her win. Happier than Ever, while overplayed, is really catchy. 

4. Best New Artist

100% going to Olivia Rodrigo. She’s extremely well liked, as both an artist and person, and went up to the top within a couple months. Her debut album, Sour, is already nominated for multiple Grammys and she’s going on tour in a few months. It’s actually very surprising how successful she has become at her age, and within this amount of time. 

5. Best Pop Solo Performance 

It may go to Positions by Ariana Grande. Although the song was released in 2020, she is a mind-blowing performer and can hit any notes. With the breath control and stage presence that she has, Grande can win any performance award.

There are 86 different categories, all listed on the Grammys official website along with the nominees. Other categories include best songs, albums, and performances from different genres like Latin music, classical music, and production.
